There were only three people in the hotel room: Fang Cheng, Kanzaki Rin, and Kamikawa Takumi. Everyone else had been kept outside.
What Fang Cheng needed to discuss involved the Sessho-seki inside Kanzaki Rin, and it wasn't something he wanted too many people to know about.
When Kamikawa Takumi heard that Kanzaki Rin had already undergone Level 4 Enhancement, his face went deathly pale.
As an Ace, he knew all about Level 4 Enhancement. He also knew that even those who survived the process were doomed to die in the end. There were no exceptions.
Before he could fly into a rage, Fang Cheng confessed that they had already resolved the problem.
Kamikawa Takumi let out a long breath and pressed a hand to his chest. Only then did the color return to his face.
"Can't you tell me everything at once? Don't scare me like that. I have a weak heart."
Before he could fully relax, Fang Cheng told him about the Sessho-seki—and that they still had no solution.
Kamikawa Takumi's face, which had only just regained its color, turned pale again.
Fang Cheng thought his brother-in-law had mastered the art of Sichuan opera face-changing. His face went red and white in a flash. It was pretty amusing.
Kamikawa Takumi, however, wasn't in the mood to care about his complexion. He looked at his younger sister with sorrow, finally understanding why she had wanted to die alongside her enemy.
She had lost both parents as a child, fought her way to adulthood, and still had to suffer the torment of the Sessho-seki.
Kamikawa Takumi felt a surge of resentment. Why had fate treated his sister so unfairly?
"There has to be a way to solve this, Rin."
He stroked his sister's hair. "Your big brother won't let you die."
