He quickly collected himself and smiled. "Why are you all back?"
As he spoke, he glanced at the Nine-Tailed Fox and Fat Cat.
How dare you two betray me?
Fat Cat zipped behind the Nine-Tailed Fox, who braced herself and met Fang Cheng's stare. "I only told everyone you'd come back from Steal Country."
Fang Cheng chuckled. "Well, thanks for that. How about I give your tail a little grooming sometime?"
The Nine-Tailed Fox jumped in fright. "No need to trouble yourself."
"How could it be a trouble..."
"Enough."
Kanzaki Rin cut off Fang Cheng's attempt to change the subject. "What were you doing in Subspace?"
Fang Cheng didn't so much as blink. "Kaori's been falling behind in her training lately, so I was giving her some one-on-one lessons."
As soon as he said it, the Nine-Tailed Fox and Fat Cat shot him looks of contempt.
Ye Yuqing led the chorus of jeers. "You expect us to believe that?"
Yuguang Kaori wished the ground would swallow her up. Oni Yunjie and Tsukikage Hoshi were watching with amused smiles, but they showed no sign of helping her.
Ugou Mirai crossed her arms and smiled knowingly.
At first, when she learned that her mother and Fang Cheng had an ambiguous relationship, she'd felt the pain of betrayal.
Now, though, she was more than happy to see them together. If her mother succeeded, surely
