At dawn, sunlight broke through the clouds and spilled across the Transylvanian Plateau, cloaked in morning mist, tinting the white fog a faint gold.

A luxury car emerged from the mist and stopped at the border between Brasov and a neighboring city.

The car door opened. A boot stepped out first, followed by a petite, red-haired girl climbing out of the back seat. She stretched in the morning sunlight.

The other car door opened, and a handsome, black-haired young man stepped out, holding a Black Bible.

He looked ahead. The road, shrouded in morning mist, was in poor condition, riddled with potholes. The iron road sign planted at the roadside was rusty, its lettering blurred and illegible.

Ophi, the War Horseman, had smashed her colleague's head with a stone. She dusted off her hands and warned him, "Don't let me hear that annoying chanting today, or I'll hit you every time I do."
