Kanzaki Rin had indeed found out.
But Fang Cheng wasn't sure whether she was bluffing. If he admitted it too hastily, he might fall into her trap, so he decided to deny it to the bitter end. "Are you sure you've got the right person? I was at home all night playing Bamboo Studio's new game. I'm telling you, Dragon Mom is amazing. I could go another few dozen rounds..."
"Shut up! Are you still trying to deny it?"
Kanzaki Rin folded her arms and sneered. "How old are you, running around in the middle of the night wearing a Masked Rider mask?"
Fang Cheng asked, puzzled, "If I was wearing a mask, how can you be sure it was me?"
I'd recognize you even if you were reduced to ashes.
But Fang Cheng had a point. Kanzaki Rin hadn't seen his face in any of the surveillance footage from the scene. Still, hadn't he shown his face plenty of times before? And was that even the point?
Seeing Kanzaki Rin fall silent, Fang Cheng spread his hands. "No proof, right? I told you not to wrong an innocent man like me. Don't assume I'll do bad things just because I'm a Vampire. I'm no turncoat. You're being way too prejudiced against my kind. You should reflect on that."
Whatever happened, Fang Cheng would never admit it. He couldn't leave a verbal confession behind, either.
Kanzaki Rin raised her voice in annoyance. "I'm not here to arrest you, so what's the point of arguing with me? I'm questioning you as your partner. Why did you act on your own? Don't you know how easy it is to expose yourself that way? If I hadn't helped you last night, do you think that clumsy trick would've fooled the Countermeasure Department's professionals?"
