Clang! Clang! Clang!
When the bells rang again, all of Centralia Town came back to life once more.
This time, Fang Cheng and Isis stood in the town, watching helplessly as it was renewed at an unbelievable speed. The people who had died also came back to life in their homes.
Dulu and the other investigators had yet to appear. They would have to wait another ten minutes or so.
Fang Cheng said to Isis, "I'll try again to see if I can catch Richard. Could you keep watch inside the mine?"
Isis nodded, making no objection.
After they split up, Fang Cheng immediately flew to Richard's house.
Inside the two-story house, Richard sat in the living room. He wasn't reading or eating, just waiting quietly.
He knew that once the town came back to life, the two strangers would come looking for him right away.
As the thought crossed Richard's mind, Fang Cheng appeared behind him in an instant. Richard didn't notice him at all.
The second hand on the wall clock had just pointed to two, meaning only ten seconds had passed since the town came back to life.
Fang Cheng reached out toward the oblivious Richard. As long as he grabbed him, he could drag him into his own Subspace.
Unfortunately, the result was exactly the same as before. The instant Fang Cheng touched him, Richard's body twisted, then vanished into a Rift.
Fang Cheng instinctively tried to follow, opening a Rift into his own Subspace at the same time in an attempt to interfere with Richard.
But it was all useless. Richard's Subspace still repelled Fang Cheng, and he couldn't interfere with Richard's actions.
Whoosh!
Richard vanished in an instant, leaving Fang Cheng alone in the living room.
"Damn it!"
Failing again, Fang Cheng couldn't help
