Flight

The next day

It was Saturday, so Gohan didn't have school. Yun Feng said to Goku, "Take Gohan to train. I'll take care of Goten's training today."

He took Goten to an open area. "Goten, can you transform into a Super Saiyan?" As he spoke, Yun Feng transformed into a Super Saiyan, his hair turning gold as golden flames rose around him.

Goten nodded. "I can, but Mom won't let me. She says it's something delinquents do." Yun Feng smiled. "That's not true. Your mom just doesn't like Super Saiyans. Transform and let me see."

Yesterday, Goten had powered up, and golden flames had risen around him as his hair turned gold. Sure enough, he was a Super Saiyan. Super Saiyans were appearing at younger and younger ages now. It looked like they'd have to train hard, or it wouldn't be good if these little guys surpassed them.

Yun Feng drew a line one meter away from himself. "Goten, throw rocks at me. If you can hit me, I'll teach you a special move."

Goten's eyes lit up. "Really? Then you'd better watch out, big brother."

Yun Feng nodded. "Go ahead."

Goten threw a rock. It flew incredibly fast, but Yun Feng was even faster and dodged it in an instant. The rock smashed the mountain behind him to pieces.

Goten said happily, "Big brother, you really are amazing. You didn't get hit at all."

Then came one rock, two rocks, three rocks—but none of them hit Yun Feng. Goten admired him immensely.

Yun Feng suddenly saw a jet fly over. He pulled Goten aside and said, "An older sister is coming to learn Flight in a bit. Don't transform into a Super Saiyan, or you really will look like a delinquent."

Goten nodded, only half understanding, then grinned. "Big brother, you're so amazing. I couldn't hit you even once."

The two hurried home. By the time they arrived, Videl was already waiting there. Yun Feng walked over and greeted her. "Videl, you're here."

"Yun Feng, your house is so far away. Even flying here took ages," Videl said.

Yun Feng smiled. "All right, you wanted to learn Flight, didn't you? Come with me."

Yun Feng took Goten and Videl to the open area. "Videl, do you know what ki is?"

"Ki?" Videl shook her head.

Goten faced a nearby rock and fired a blast of ki at it. The rock immediately shattered. "This is ki," he said happily.

Videl's eyes went wide. "Isn't that a magic trick?"

Yun Feng said, "It's not a magic trick. Ki exists inside our bodies, and we have to learn how to use it. What Goten just did was a very simple way of controlling ki."

"Videl, Goten, close your eyes and try to feel it. There's a warm current moving around inside you. That's ki. First, you need to sense it."

"Then control your ki and let it surround your whole body. Feel yourself becoming very, very light. When you fly, your ki has to stay even."

Goten slowly began to rise into the air—one meter, then two. After an hour, he could fly through the sky. "Big brother, look! I can fly! I can fly!"

Yun Feng flew up and whispered to Goten, "Go find Goku first. We'll start the next part of your training this afternoon."

Goten nodded and flew off. Yun Feng came back down and gave an awkward smile. "Goten already knew how to use ki, so he learned a little faster."

Videl was a human genius, too. She had already sensed the ki inside her body, and she slowly began to rise into the air.

Yun Feng said, "That's it. Good. Control it. Keep your ki even."

Videl dropped back down. "This is so hard."

Yun Feng reassured her, "You're doing fine. You learned to control your ki in just one morning. It's only a matter of time before you can fly."

They ate lunch, then continued practicing in the afternoon. After a full afternoon of training, Videl could hover three meters above the ground and slowly walk through the air.

After landing, Videl said, "I'll come back tomorrow. I'll have to trouble you again then, Yun Feng." She bowed to him, her cheeks bright red, then climbed into her plane and left.

Gohan had hidden away, not daring to come out in case Videl discovered he lived there, too. He hadn't even come back for lunch.

Yun Feng said, "I'm sorry you have to put up with this, Gohan. It's for your sake, so you can go to high school in the city more easily."

Gohan smiled. "It's fine. If she found out and it got around the class, it would be pretty troublesome."

The next day, Videl arrived at Goku's house on time to find Yun Feng and learn Flight. With his guidance, she finally got the hang of it, and by the afternoon, she could fly through the sky.

Yun Feng said to Videl, "Flight is just a simple way of using ki. Gather your ki in the palm of your hand, like this."

A Light Blast appeared in his palm. "Try it. You've learned how to use ki now, so slowly gather the ki inside your body in your palm."

Yun Feng saw Videl's palm begin to glow. Her ki was on the verge of forming a blast, but she still failed.

Videl sat on the ground, gasping for breath. "This is so hard."

Yun Feng smiled. "It's not that hard, really. You just haven't gotten the hang of controlling your ki yet. Once you do, you'll be able to form one easily."

At last, just before nightfall, Videl managed to form a Light Blast through sheer effort.

Looking at the glowing Light Blast in her palm, Videl could hardly believe it was real. But she had seen herself form it with her own eyes, so she had no choice but to believe it.

Videl finally understood that it wasn't a magic trick. Ki really existed; people simply didn't know how to use it.

Ding! The host has completed a hidden mission. Reward: a large amount of Saiyan Energy.

Yun Feng felt his power rapidly increasing. He seemed to have reached the peak of Super Saiyan 2.

Yun Feng's stats immediately appeared on the system panel.

Yun Feng was extremely pleased with his stats. A new energy attribute had appeared, which made him very happy. Now he was confident that if he encountered the demon again, he would beat him to a pulp.

Just then, an extremely chilling voice rang out. "Yun Feng, you've made me search high and low for you. You seem to be enjoying yourself, even finding time to teach a human girl how to use basic powers."

Yun Feng recognized the voice at once. He could never forget the one that had left such a deep impression on him. The demon.

Yun Feng said, "Guku, you really are like a bad penny. How did you even find me here?"

"Hahaha, Yun Feng, if I don't get rid of you, how can I take over Earth? And how will I return to the Holy Race and report that the mission is complete?" the demon said coldly.

Videl stood frozen in place. She had never felt anything so chilling. Yun Feng pulled her behind him.

He whispered to Videl, "This is a terrifying enemy. When the time comes, run far away—get away as fast as you can. I'll hold him off. But don't worry, I'll be fine. He's no match for me."

Yun Feng's words only made Videl more worried. Just then, two figures appeared.

Goku and Gohan had sensed the demon's chilling ki, so they had used Instant Transmission to get there.

"Gohan? What are you doing here?" Videl asked in surprise.

Gohan looked a little awkward. "I'll explain in a bit. Yun Feng is my teacher, too, and this is my father."

Videl was bewildered, but she knew this wasn't the time to figure it out, because she had already seen a black figure slowly appear before them.
