Ch. 243Tracking

Uchiha Qingfeng drew Kisame Hoshigaki into watching Suikazan Fuguki, then the two witnessed Fuguki accept pirate evidence and gambling money. Fuguki left town for the shore with Samehada, and Qingfeng, Yakura, and Kisame followed, with Kisame still hoping his captain had not betrayed Mist Village.

  • Qingfeng convinced Kisame that they should watch Fuguki together to prove whether he had betrayed the village.
  • Qingfeng and Yakura waited through the night, and nothing unusual happened.
  • The bandit leader brought Fuguki two Sealing Scrolls containing fabricated evidence of the pirates' defeat and money to repay Fuguki's gambling losses.
  • Kisame joined Qingfeng and Yakura in overhearing Fuguki accept the scrolls and money from the bandit leader.
  • Fuguki strapped on Samehada and headed out of town toward the shore, while Qingfeng, Yakura, and Kisame followed him.

Ch. 244Rogue Ninja (Monthly Tickets, Deaf? Understand?)

Qingfeng, Kisame Hoshigaki, and Yakura followed Suikazan Fuguki to a hidden dock and witnessed him secretly trading intelligence. Kisame confronted his captain, and Fuguki learned the Mist Village had uncovered his betrayal before renouncing the village and preparing to fight.

  • Qingfeng, Kisame Hoshigaki, and Yakura followed Suikazan Fuguki to a concealed dock by the shore.
  • A spy arrived by ship, and Suikazan Fuguki exchanged goods with him while Kisame realized his captain was selling intelligence.
  • Kisame Hoshigaki charged down the slope to confront Suikazan Fuguki, and Qingfeng rushed after him while Yakura stayed hidden.
  • Suikazan Fuguki dismissed Kisame and Qingfeng as trash, then recognized Qingfeng as an Anbu member and deduced that the Mizukage knew of his betrayal.
  • Suikazan Fuguki removed his Hidden Mist Headband, slashed it with a Kunai, and declared he would not return to the Mist Village.

Ch. 245Borrowing a Blade

Kisame Hoshigaki fought Suikazan Fuguki while secretly using their battle to kill an enemy spy and protect Hidden Mist's intelligence. Uchiha Qingfeng lent Kisame a strange, heavy blade that grew lighter and sharper as he used it, leaving Suikazan increasingly on the defensive.

  • Kisame Hoshigaki challenged Suikazan Fuguki and was kicked back, badly injured, when their weapons clashed.
  • Kisame Hoshigaki broke his Katana and used the opening to stab the enemy spy who had been watching the fight.
  • Suikazan Fuguki recovered and attacked Kisame Hoshigaki, furious that Kisame had killed the spy during their meeting.
  • Uchiha Qingfeng marked the Second Brother's Inflatable Companion with a Flying Thunder God Mark and threw it to Kisame Hoshigaki.
  • Kisame Hoshigaki found the blade growing lighter and sharper as he fought, while Suikazan Fuguki struggled to keep up.

Ch. 246System Premium Products

Kisame fought his former captain, Suikazan Fuguki, and used Second Brother's Inflatable Companion to defeat and kill him. The Hidden Mist's first generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist was left with no members still serving the village, though two survived as Rogue Ninja.

  • Kisame's blade began cutting through Samehada's scales, forcing Suikazan Fuguki to dodge as Kisame pressed his attack.
  • Qingfeng taunted Fuguki, who considered fleeing into the sea but instead used Needle-Hair Senbon against Kisame.
  • Kisame advanced through Fuguki's hair needles while Qingfeng and the others watched.
  • Kisame abandoned his defense and thrust at Fuguki, who chose to intercept the blade rather than trade attacks.
  • Kisame shifted his thrust into Fuguki's chest and killed him, ending the first generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist as a village group.

Ch. 247Two Dead, One Wounded

Uchiha Qingfeng found Kisame Hoshigaki and Suikazan Fuguki gravely wounded after their fight, with the intelligence operative dead and Fuguki dying. Obito recruited Kisame by claiming to be Uchiha Madara, and Kisame agreed after being deceived by the Sharingan.

  • Kisame Hoshigaki and Suikazan Fuguki fell after their bloody fight, and Samehada restored Kisame's Chakra.
  • Uchiha Qingfeng confirmed Fuguki was dead, collected his body for the bounty, and left Kisame wounded and despondent.
  • Obito arrived with Yakura and Yagura Karatachi, prompting Kisame to recognize the Fourth Mizukage and regain his focus.
  • Obito offered Kisame a place in the Moon Eye Plan and claimed to be Uchiha Madara.
  • Kisame agreed to join Obito after the Sharingan made him believe he had seen Madara, while Qingfeng realized he had been tricked.

Ch. 248Departure (End of the Month, Monthly Tickets)

Qingfeng, Kisame, and Yakura traveled toward the Land of Rain after Obito sent them to join the Akatsuki, while Qingfeng avoided seasickness by using a Shadow Clone and Reverse Summoning. Back in Mist Village, Mei Terumi learned that Qingfeng and Hazuki had left and was left wondering whether the village was to blame for its defectors.

  • Obito ordered Qingfeng, Kisame, and Yakura to report to the Akatsuki in the Land of Rain, and Qingfeng chose a route through the Land of Hot Water.
  • Qingfeng boarded a ship, became seasick, and escaped with the Reverse Summoning Technique while leaving a frog and a Shadow Clone behind.
  • Obito returned to Mist Village and told Mei Terumi that Kisame had killed Suikazan Fuguki and that Qingfeng and Hazuki had left.
  • Mei Terumi questioned the Mizukage and heard the same account, then accepted that Qingfeng and Hazuki were gone.
  • Mei Terumi recalled Qingfeng's question about whether Mist Village's failures had caused so many Ninja to defect.

Ch. 249Shadow Clone YYDS

Uchiha Qingfeng went to Mount Myōboku to learn Sage Mode, using Shadow Clones to take the risks of training and avoid eating bugs himself. He returned to the ship still seasick, while Yakura’s feelings toward him remained complicated.

  • Uchiha Qingfeng used the Reverse Summoning Technique to reach Mount Myōboku and asked Sage Fukasaku and Sage Shima to teach him Sage Mode.
  • Sage Fukasaku explained that Mount Myōboku’s training required eating food containing Natural Energy, so Qingfeng summoned Shadow Clones to train in his place.
  • Qingfeng returned to the ship and sent the seasick Shadow Clone One to Mount Myōboku as well.
  • Qingfeng remained seasick and decided to exchange Suikazan Fuguki’s corpse for money to pursue a reward that could spare him future boat rides.
  • Yakura followed Qingfeng onto the deck and felt conflicted that the person she had cared for was a Shadow Clone, yet Qingfeng had returned despite being able to leave.

Ch. 250Land of Hot Water (Start of the Month, Monthly Tickets)

Uchiha Qingfeng overcame his seasickness by hanging upside down on the ship, and he, Yakura, and Kisame reached the Land of Hot Water. They stopped at a small town for the night, where the hot spring innkeeper asked where they were from.

  • Kisame told Uchiha Qingfeng to hang upside down against the ship’s hull, and the method relieved his seasickness.
  • Uchiha Qingfeng thanked Kisame and promised to save his life someday as their peaceful voyage continued.
  • The ship docked in the Land of Hot Water, and the three hurried away from the port to avoid attention and a possible encounter with Jiraiya.
  • Uchiha Qingfeng, Yakura, and Kisame found a small town and chose an inn with hot springs for the night.
  • The innkeeper asked the three where they were from before accepting Uchiha Qingfeng’s money.

Ch. 251Mysterious Town

Qingfeng, Kisame Hoshigaki, and Yakura stayed at a hot spring inn where the food had been drugged. Qingfeng woke from nearly drowning and uncovered the inn’s plot, but Yakura awoke with him beside her as the conspirators stood at her door.

  • Qingfeng posed as a wealthy young traveler and rented rooms at the inn, where he and his companions ate the food the owner brought them.
  • After nearly drowning in the hot spring, Qingfeng realized someone had drugged their meal and used the Shining World Instrument to cure himself.
  • Qingfeng rushed to Yakura’s room, found her asleep in bed, gave her the antidote, and then pretended to be asleep when he heard someone approaching.
  • The inn owner and his lackeys argued about Kisame Hoshigaki floating in the hot spring and revealed that they served a Protector and sought living sacrifices.
  • Yakura woke to find Qingfeng lying beside her and three men standing at her bedroom door.

Ch. 252Black Inn

Qingfeng, Yakura, and Kisame discovered that the hot spring inn had drugged them and planned to use them as sacrifices. Qingfeng decided they would not simply leave, but would confront and destroy the criminals, with Kisame expected to do the fighting.

  • Yakura woke beside Qingfeng and learned that the innkeeper had drugged them, while Qingfeng proposed leaving the next day as though nothing had happened.
  • Yakura explained that she had treated herself when she sensed something was wrong, and Qingfeng said Kisame was still floating in the hot spring.
  • Qingfeng struck Kisame with a stone to wake him, and Kisame climbed out unharmed, saying the water had likely flushed out the poison.
  • Qingfeng, Yakura, and Kisame waited for the innkeeper and his reinforcements, but no one returned.
  • Qingfeng refused to leave and declared that they should eliminate the criminal group, expecting Kisame to handle the fighting.

Ch. 254Jashin Cult???

The Elder alerted the Jashin Cult’s Protector, Hidan, that drugs had failed to subdue the three outsiders, and Hidan gathered the town’s believers for a sacrifice. Kisame fought Hidan and sent him flying with Samehada, believing the battle was already decided.

  • The Elder reported the failed drugs to Hidan, who ordered the cult members to gather and witness the sacrifice.
  • Qingfeng and Kisame found roughly a hundred robed townspeople surrounding the hot spring inn, but Kisame waited for their leader rather than attack them.
  • Hidan arrived with the Elder, declared the three outsiders sacrifices, and challenged them.
  • Qingfeng let Kisame fight Hidan, who charged with his scythe while the believers formed a circle and chanted.
  • Kisame exchanged a few blows with Hidan, then struck him with Samehada and sent him flying with a huge gash in his body.

Ch. 255Hidan

Hidan kept attacking Kisame until he drew Kisame’s blood, but Qingfeng intervened and prevented Hidan from using his curse technique. Qingfeng then ordered Kisame to find the Jashin statue so he could decide how to deal with Hidan and the cult’s followers.

  • Hidan repeatedly charged Kisame and survived Samehada’s attacks until he pinned the sword and cut Kisame with his Black Spear.
  • Qingfeng used Flying Thunder God Technique and Great Ball Rasengan to send Hidan flying, then had Kisame wash the blood from the spear.
  • Hidan stood up again, threatened Qingfeng, and then backed down when Qingfeng formed more Rasengan.
  • Qingfeng ordered the cult to disband and told Kisame to find the statue of their god.
  • Qingfeng planned to destroy the idol and take Hidan away, using force if Hidan resisted.

Ch. 256Statue

Kisame and Qingfeng entered the Jashin Cult’s shrine to inspect and destroy its statue, while the cult’s Elder warned that it concealed a dangerous passage. The Elder was knocked aside, but Hidan began his ritual before Kisame could strike the statue.

  • Kisame led Qingfeng and the others to the shrine, brushing aside anyone who tried to stop them and killing the innkeeper Elder who blocked the entrance.
  • Inside the dark shrine, Hidan urged them to worship Jashin, but Qingfeng ordered him to wait while they examined the statue.
  • Qingfeng told Kisame to destroy the statue and challenged the believers to stand in their way; the Elder returned and revealed he had received half of the Evil God’s Blessing.
  • The Elder warned that Jashin himself had erected the statue and that opening the passage behind it might destroy the Ninja World, but Qingfeng ordered Kisame to proceed.
  • Kisame knocked the Elder aside again and approached the statue, when Hidan drew the ritual pattern and declared that they would become offerings to Jashin.

Ch. 257Evil God??

Hidan summoned Jashin through a hidden ritual, but Jashin refused to intervene and decided to return to sleep. As Kisame tried to destroy her statue, Qingfeng remained wary of the unknown spirit.

  • Qingfeng noticed that Hidan's ritual array had two inner triangles and asked him what it did.
  • A revived Elder told Qingfeng that the array was a ritual to summon Jashin, reserved for a time when no Ninja remained in the Ninja World.
  • Hidan summoned Jashin and stabbed himself, feeding his blood into the array.
  • Jashin sensed the old man's scent, dismissed Hidan's request for help, and decided to return to sleep before reconsidering whether to emerge.
  • Kisame struck Jashin's statue with Samehada, but it remained intact as the building shook.

Ch. 258Samehada: I Won't Eat

Qingfeng and Kisame subdued the Jashin Cult’s Elder while the ritual around Hidan faded, leaving Hidan ready to die. Just as Kisame prepared to kill him, the statue shook, and Hidan took it as a sign that Jashin had not abandoned him.

  • Kisame failed to damage the Jashin statue, and Qingfeng told him to stop striking it.
  • The Elder tried to flee, but Kisame knocked him down, and Samehada swallowed him as the remaining believers ran away.
  • With the ritual formation extinguished, Qingfeng gave Hidan the choice to join them or die, but Hidan refused to respond.
  • As Kisame prepared to kill Hidan, the building shook, and Hidan rushed to the statue, believing Jashin had answered him.
  • Qingfeng realized the building had been built around the statue, grabbed Yakura, and ran outside while Kisame remained behind.

Ch. 259Little Evil God Flying Kick

Qingfeng, Yakura, Kisame, and Hidan witnessed Jashin emerge from the ruined statue, only for her to reveal overwhelming physical strength. Qingfeng returned after being blasted away, then surrendered before her next attack could land.

  • The shrine collapsed, and its statue began to peel away and glow as Hidan crawled free and prayed.
  • After waiting until dawn, Qingfeng, Yakura, Kisame, and Hidan saw Jashin emerge as a small, snake-tailed girl who ignored Hidan.
  • Jashin attacked Qingfeng with her Little Evil God Flying Kick and sent him crashing through buildings, breaking several of his ribs.
  • Qingfeng walked back despite his injuries, but surrendered when Jashin prepared her ultimate move, and Yakura rushed to support him.

Ch. 260Little Evil God

Qingfeng negotiated with Little Evil God after she defeated the group, then persuaded her to dress and travel with them. She shrank to palm size and perched on Qingfeng’s shoulder as they set out toward the Land of Rain.

  • Qingfeng got Little Evil God to stop fighting, but she rejected Yakura’s clothes until he threatened to leave with the others.
  • Kisame carried the disarmed Hidan away, and Little Evil God stopped them to ask about her followers.
  • Qingfeng told Little Evil God that her cult had been disbanded and that Hidan was being taken to atone for his sins.
  • Little Evil God agreed to wear magically materialized clothes and travel with Qingfeng after he promised to show her tasty and fun things in the Land of Rain.
  • Little Evil God explained that she was not a Summoning Beast, then shrank to palm size and perched on Qingfeng’s shoulder.

Ch. 261Notes

Uchiha Qingfeng traveled with Little Evil God, Yakura, Kisame, and Hidan while trying to keep her fed and uncovering the Jashin Cult’s history. A notebook Samehada expelled revealed that the cult’s doctrine had been to kill Ninja, and Qingfeng suspected its followers had once gained immortal bodies before the cult mysteriously collapsed.

  • Little Evil God refused to stay with Yakura because she disliked the smell of Chakra, so Qingfeng kept her close while Hidan served as her bodyguard and errand-runner.
  • Qingfeng and his companions spent most of their remaining money buying food for Little Evil God, then checked into an inn.
  • Samehada vomited up an ancient notebook and a set of clothes, and Kisame cleaned the notebook before bringing it to Qingfeng.
  • Little Evil God recognized the notebook as old Jashin Cult rules and rituals, and corrected Qingfeng that its doctrine was to kill Ninja, not people in general.
  • Qingfeng reasoned that Jashin’s followers may have gained immortal bodies through the cult’s rituals, but wondered why the cult had mysteriously dwindled until only Hidan remained with a complete immortal body.

Ch. 262Seeing Injustice on the Road

Qingfeng secured the dangerous notebook and continued traveling with his companions toward the Land of Rain. Their journey was interrupted at night when the town’s residents were summoned outside, and the innkeeper brought his guests along, hoping Qingfeng would deal with whoever was causing trouble.

  • Qingfeng put away the notebook containing the means to create immortals and decided to keep it secret rather than use it.
  • Yakura checked the map and told Qingfeng they were in Sorrel Golden Mountain in the Land of Rivers, a few days from the Land of Rain.
  • Qingfeng considered whether to leave Yakura with the Akatsuki Organization or take her back to Leaf Village, then told everyone to rest for the night.
  • Jashin-chan took Qingfeng’s bed, leaving him to sleep in the inn’s main hall.
  • A commotion woke Qingfeng, and the innkeeper brought him and the other guests along as the townspeople headed outside.

Ch. 263Fireworks

Qingfeng and the others were forced to watch as Black Hoe Raiga used lightning to execute people and terrify the town into obedience. Qingfeng realized the bandits were maintaining control through public killings, but the chapter ended before he acted against them.

  • The innkeeper gathered Qingfeng, Hidan, Kisame, and the other guests and led them out of town to watch a supposed fireworks display.
  • At the square, Qingfeng saw about ten bandits holding several hundred silent villagers under their control.
  • Kisame restrained Hidan and warned him not to attack without orders.
  • Third Brother announced that the gathering was for fireworks and warned the villagers to accept their lot.
  • Black Hoe Raiga appeared on the mountain and used Lightning Burial to strike people with lightning, while Third Brother threatened anyone who resisted or sought help.
