On the 6th of last month, I told everyone the new book would come out at the end of the month, but I kept putting it off until this month.
Why? Because something happened at home in the second half of last month. It was awful and took up a great deal of my energy. I even developed nervous exhaustion, lying awake for hours, sleeping terribly, and waking up several times a night...
You should know that before all this, I could basically fall asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
I've been taking medicine lately, and my sleep has improved quite a bit. There's still hope for me.
I have no intention of bringing everyone down. I don't want to go into details or play for sympathy. There's no need.
Life goes on, so I'm back.
I know everyone tried to reach me in all sorts of ways during this time. I'm truly sorry, but back then I really couldn't deal with anything else. I'm sorry.
Secondly, the new book is a Perfect World fanfic. Some old friends will come along, and others will leave. That's all right. After all, not everyone is interested in Perfect World, or has read the original.
In the end, it all comes down to the story. If you're interested, follow along. If you're not, there's no need to force yourself. Reading should be fun; there's no need to make it unpleasant.
Originally, I wanted to call the new book something like Perfect World: ..., to ride on the original's popularity. But my editor told me that a game company was also called Perfect World, and they'd bought the rights to the Perfect World domain name.
I heard that Chen Dong had to work hard to settle on the title when he wrote Perfect World, too.
So my editor suggested I change the title, and that's how we got Only I, Desolate Heaven Emperor. Don't think it's lame. I did my best...
