"Shi Clan's Shi Hao, are you that child from back then?!"
Yu Wen, Yu Kun, and the other two seal-bearers stepped forward, actively resisting the heaven-piercing pressure. Their complexions turned ghastly, clearly having recalled something.
"Indeed!"
The slender figure sitting cross-legged atop the Nine-Headed Golden Lion slowly raised his head, revealing a handsome face with sword-like brows and starry eyes, possessing the bearing of a dragon and the grace of a phoenix.
"Martial King Manor's Shi Hao, the Little Shi of the Void God Realm. If our clan had been ruthless enough to eradicate you completely back then, this disaster today would never have come to pass."
The Rain Clan elder named Yu Kun spoke in a deep voice: "Shi Hao, hand over our clan's Supreme One True Water, and this elder can grant you a quick death."
"Come to think of it, this isn't my first time dealing with the old dogs of the Rain Clan, but whether it was Yu Meng or you lot, you are all equally ignorant of how to stay alive."
Shi Hao rose to his full height, countless runes weaving across his skin. He stepped into the air, ascending step by step, his gaze cold as he looked down upon Yu Kun and the others.
"The affair in the Western Frontier, and the one who secretly struck at our clan—it was actually you!"
Yu Kun and the other three reacted with lightning speed, instantly connecting the events of the past.
"You aren't entirely dim-witted. Prepare for judgment!"
A smile touched the corner of Shi Hao's mouth. He stomped his foot hard against the void, instantly igniting a monstrous crimson fire that, centered on his body, dyed the better part of the sky red.
The temperature between heaven and earth climbed sharply, becoming unbearably scorching.
"Skree!"
A crisp bird cry resounded through the heavens. A massive beast claw thrust out from the clouds, and the true form of the divine bird filled the firmament like a dark cloud—it was a Primordial Vermilion Bird.
Primordial Vermilion Bird Four Strikes! First Strike!
"Damn it, the Vermilion Bird Precious Technique! How does Shi Hao, a mere royal of the Stone Kingdom, possess the ancestral precious technique of the Fire Kingdom?!"
The pale-faced Yu Kun cursed inwardly. With no time to think, he shouted at the top of his lungs: "Everyone, form up!"
"Rain Method, Hundred Thousand Marsh Kingdom!"
The auras of forty or fifty Rain Clan experts tightly intertwined. Each one glowed, releasing divine radiance as their essence evolved into countless runes that connected with the heavens and earth.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Layer upon layer of azure waves spread from the void, instantly transforming this desert region into an endless marsh. Boulders, strange trees, and even vegetation were swept away entirely.
"Azure Shield!"
A nearly transparent, heaven-reaching water curtain surged to the clouds, manifesting into a massive azure shield that hung in mid-air, firmly blocking the chilling beast claw.
"Naive!"
Before the Rain Clan experts could show any joy, a wing that seemed to hang from the clouds struck down like a crimson divine blade. With a thunderous roar, it instantly shattered the azure water shield.
"Oh no, change formation!"
The four elders, Yu Kun and Yu Wen, roared hoarsely. Leading the clan experts, they scrambled to shift their formation. As the marsh on the ground churned madly, a massive azure beast broke through the water.
The azure beast resembled a lion with a single horn, its body as robust as a war-beast. The moment it took form, it lashed out with its four hooves, charging into the air with its cold, singular horn.
"Skree!"
Severely provoked, the Primordial Vermilion Bird let out an angry cry. With a flap of its wings, it whipped up a heaven-shattering crimson storm, tearing the beast apart with extreme violence.
"Numbers have never been the key to victory."
Shi Hao tapped his toe, landing atop the ferocious head of the Primordial Vermilion Bird. His body merged into it like water, and the divine bird's already sky-covering form expanded wildly once more.
"Never!"
The Primordial Vermilion Bird spoke in a human voice, a cold glint flashing in its eyes. Its beak, crystalline and red as a blood diamond, opened slightly, spitting out streaks of light that whistled through the air.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Crimson immortal swords, mixed with monstrous divine fire, slashed down. They were sharp to the extreme—this was a terrifyingly supreme precious technique!
The Rain Clan had nowhere left to run!
"We'll stake it all on this! Oblique Wind and Fine Rain, Slicing Stars and Moon!"
Driven to a dead end, the Rain Clan experts roared in unison. Under the influence of their Rain God bloodline, the rain filling the sky condensed into razor-sharp blades that whistled outward. Every drop of rain transformed into refined metal, piercing through thousands of obstacles.
It was a pity that this was a desert—a desert with pitifully little moisture, the least favorable terrain for the Rain Clan to fight in. Had it been a rainy day, this battle formation might have been amplified several times over.
"BOOM!!!"
The two forces collided with a roar, the raging divine fire burning away half the firmament.
Even the golden desert floor was scorched into vast stretches of glass-like crystal, glittering and shining brilliantly under the sun.
The mist filling the sky slowly dissipated, but not a single soul remained in the area.
The Rain Clan—not a single person had survived!
High above the nine heavens, the phantom of the Primordial Vermilion Bird that had filled the sky vanished. The slender figure returned once more to the back of the Nine-Headed Golden Lion.
"Tsk, tragic. Truly tragic. They didn't even leave behind a single bone."
Hiding far away, the golden lion shook its head and sighed.
"Golden Fur, find a quiet place. I need to go into seclusion to refine the Supreme One True Water."
Shi Hao patted the Qiankun Bag at his waist with satisfaction and tightened the golden drawstring at its opening; he couldn't let his hard-won prey escape.
In the original story, most of the pool of Supreme One True Water had escaped during the conflict between Little Shi and the Rain Clan, and the portion Little Shi did seize had to be shared with the Fire Cloud Sparrow, Little Red, and Xiao Tian of the Heaven Mending Pavilion.
Even so, after swallowing one-third of the Supreme One True Water, Little Shi had successfully stimulated his Supreme Bone to begin its initial recovery, condensing a Void Bone.
Shi Hao refused to believe that with a full pool of Supreme One True Water this time—not a single drop lost—he couldn't make his Supreme Bone fully recover.
"I am not called Golden Fur!!"
The Nine-Headed Golden Lion muttered resentfully, yet its feet moved as swift as the wind, carrying Shi Hao as it vanished rapidly into the Boundless Desert.
Beside a shimmering spirit lake, a figure sat cross-legged upon a giant boulder.
His physical body vibrated and glowed like a divine furnace, with countless Bone Texts interwoven across his skin; it was Shi Hao, who had just swallowed the Supreme One True Water.
At the edge of the boulder lay the Nine-Headed Golden Lion, which, bored out of its mind, would occasionally lift its heads to glance at the figure for a moment before drooping them again.
"Damn it, this human brat is clearly in seclusion, yet I haven't even thought about running away. Am I beyond saving..."
The Nine-Headed Golden Lion stared blankly at the void, feeling like a dried-out salted fish.
The corpses of the Primordial Golden Crow and the Lunar Jade Rabbit rose and sank in turn, marking the passage of day and night.
"BOOM!!!"
Suddenly, a brilliant, ten-thousand-foot divine radiance erupted from Shi Hao's chest. An overwhelmingly powerful aura instantly flooded the heavens and earth, causing the winds and clouds to shift.
The Nine-Headed Golden Lion, which had been at the edge of the lake catching Dragon Scale Fish, was caught off guard and instantly flipped onto the ground, pinned down so firmly it couldn't move.
"The... the aura of a Supreme..."
Feeling the soul-crushing pressure emanating from the depths of its bloodline, the Nine-Headed Golden Lion struggled to lift its nine ferocious heads, groaning out every word.
The Supreme One True Water contained abundant divine energy; even the sages of antiquity required it to refine their artifacts.
After several days of refining, most of the divine liquid had merged into Shi Hao's flesh and blood, finally reaching his chest to stimulate the recovery of the residual Supreme blood.
