For the commoners, or for the lords?
Sui Xiong realized that he seemed not to have considered this question for a very long time.
This should have been the most natural thing in the world. Whether based on the moral values he had held as an Earthling or on the necessity of advancing this world's development, he ought to have thought and acted from the commoners' perspective.
But in recent years, especially after the destruction of the Mystery Pantheon and the full-scale missionary efforts launched by the various churches of the Void Mask Pantheon throughout the Arcane Tower Federation, he had focused more and more on evangelization, gradually shifting the focus of his work.
Even... the focus of his thoughts had changed.
Why was he helping the lords prolong their lives? Was it merely to expand his influence and spread the Church?
If so, why had he restricted the life-extending potion invented by Wendy, the slime alchemy master, in the first place? Wouldn't it have been better to unleash that life-prolonging potion without limit? As long as he held that potion firmly in his grasp, which of those decrepit old fossils would dare oppose him?
He was no longer who he had once been. His confidence was overflowing. At least on the Main Plane, he feared no challenge and was fully capable of protecting the benefits brought by the life-extending potion.
So, should he change course and alter his direction?
Of course not!
What the hell did he care about how those immortal old bastard lords lived?!
