But nearly fifty years had passed, and Kalisha had always been an important member of the Church of Void Mask, taking part in its core affairs and earning everyone's respect and trust. It was no exaggeration to say that she had become an inseparable part of the Church of Void Mask.
Now the Goddess of Love was asking him to let Kalisha become her follower. Sui Xiong certainly wouldn't agree.
As for their feelings, after all these years of friendship, how could he simply hand her over?

He expected the Goddess of Love to fly into a rage when he said that. At best, she'd return to her divine kingdom and keep hiding like a coward; at worst, she might turn on him and start a fight. So even as he spoke, he prepared for battle.
But he'd guessed wrong. The Goddess of Love didn't get angry at his answer. Instead, she laughed.
