Explosives. The word set Sui Xiong's imagination racing.
From the Nobel Prize to world wars, from Samsung phones to terrorist attacks... all manner of thoughts surged into his mind like a tide, impossible to dispel.
So this world had explosives too!
As far as Sui Xiong knew, this world had nothing like the so-called explosives of Earth. When people here needed something explosive, they either used magic with such effects or detonated items rich in magical power, such as magic crystals and enchanted crystals, to achieve roughly the same result.
Without question, both methods were extremely costly. The most common explosive spell was Fireball, one of the standard mid-level spells; the value of a single magic crystal or enchanted crystal was no less than the cost of hiring a mid-level mage to cast Fireball.
Thus, aside from a handful of especially wealthy people, few had ever used explosives to kill enemies and win battles. That was until Crick Keen burst onto the scene. When he was so gravely ill that he could barely walk, he had Mage Damwed manufacture a large quantity of explosives, then buried them beneath a hall and blew an entire group of ill-intentioned scoundrels to death, leaving not a single one alive to escape.
But after that, no one ever made explosives again. Mage Damwed devoted himself to agricultural research and never touched the subject again, even after ascending to godhood. Crick Keen himself died in that explosion and became a Sacred Spirit of Void Mask.
...At least, that was how it looked in the eyes of those "in the know."
In truth, Crick and Sui Xiong had been the same person all along. Those supposedly vanished Crick Explosives had simply been made by Sui Xiong according to a formula from some webnovel he had read.
