At the border where the World Ring's "negative," "material," and "spiritual" planes met, countless large and small turbulence zones churned. Chaotic and disorderly, these currents contained immense power and were exceedingly perilous. Worse still, harsh mountains and treacherous waters bred fierce folk—such places often gave birth to terrifying Demonic Beasts, each possessing earth-shaking power, some so mighty that even gods found them difficult to match. Thus, although strange treasures occasionally emerged from within, few reckless fools dared come here in search of them.
Over the years, more than one powerful god had set their sights on these turbulence zones. Most achieved nothing, wasting vast amounts of time and divine power for meager gains. A few fought brutal battles against the terrifying Demonic Beasts, only for both sides to suffer and to retreat with broken wings. The unluckiest were even besieged by the beasts and perished outright.
As a result, these turbulence zones had now become something close to forbidden territory. No god would recklessly come here seeking profit anymore.
But today, a green jellyfish quietly flew into this place.
Comparing the clues he had obtained from the Lord of Glory, Sui Xiong nimbly skirted one turbulence zone after another. Faced with lightning, flames, meteors, and all manner of dangers surging between the currents, he used no brute force at all. With only the lightest, smallest movements, he gently nudged them aside, finding the tiniest crack through which to pass.
This not only greatly conserved his strength, but also minimized any disturbance. Everything seemed utterly silent, without the slightest sign of anything unusual.
Yet even so, after passing the thousandth—or perhaps the two-thousandth—turbulence zone, he still felt a strange force settle upon him. In that instant, he had the sensation of "being watched."
I'm here.
Sui Xiong smiled inwardly and stopped.
