Kru nodded, but his expression was somewhat lonely.
He had only just grown into adulthood, yet his father was about to travel far away. Though orcish culture emphasized independence, he could not help feeling sad.
Fela noticed his loneliness. After some thought, he took out two magic items.
"This crystal contains the Complete Guide to Green Magic that I compiled. It holds all my magical knowledge, as well as some principles I have sorted out regarding gaining spells and abilities by devouring Magic Beasts. I know you are not particularly interested in becoming a Green Mage, but keep it anyway. Perhaps one of my grandsons or granddaughters will be interested."
"As for this green pearl... eat it when you grow old." Fela paused before adding, "It can make you roughly twenty years younger."
Kru nearly jumped to his feet. "Then you should eat it right away!"
"I have no use for it anymore." Fela smiled. "After this time, I probably will not need to worry too much about growing old."
Kru froze for a moment, but did not press him. He carefully put away the two precious treasures.
Fela nodded, picked up the wine flask, tipped back his head, and drained the remaining half flask in one go. Then he coughed violently a few times, yet rose to his feet.
He took out a storage pouch and casually placed it on the table. "All the savings of my life are in here. They cannot compare to those two treasures, but perhaps these worldly things will be more useful to you."
"Father..."
"Mm, I'm leaving. Live well. When I come back to see you, you must introduce me to some adorable grandsons and granddaughters!"
As he spoke, Fela's figure gradually faded away, soon vanishing without a trace.
While Kru gazed sadly
