A notice had been posted beside the four gates of the Radiant Kingdom's capital, on the bulletin board in the square before the royal palace, and everywhere in every nation and city that was used for announcements and publicity.
On the notice, a few brief lines had been written in both the common tongue and the local official language.
[At the New Year, we plan to launch the final decisive battle against the orcs. Heroes and champions from every land, kings and lords from every nation, and even human deities from every pantheon will take part. We are now recruiting all warriors willing to join the battle and fight at our side. Travel, food, and lodging will all be covered; equipment will be provided; rewards will be generous; and deities will be specially assigned to guide the souls of the fallen, along with substantial pensions and thorough funeral arrangements.]
Beside many of the notices, dedicated personnel were also promoting the cause. What they said went far beyond the contents of the notice, taking on every conceivable form.
For example, some proclaimed, "Defeat the orcs, and those who earn great merit can become lords; those who earn lesser merit can become officials. Even if you earn no merit at all and merely help carry things around, you'll at least receive enough wealth to keep your whole family well-fed and well-clothed for years!"
Others proclaimed, "War does mean people will die, but everyone dies eventually. Risk your life once to win your family a glorious future—it's worth it! A person lives only one life; surely they must leave something behind for their family. The martyrs of this war will be cared for by the churches of the gods. Even if you die, your family's lifelong peace and security will be guaranteed!"
