To the north of the Main Plane lay the vast grasslands occupied by the Orc Empire. Naturally, the grasslands had mountains and rivers, hills and gorges. One particular gorge appeared unremarkable at first glance, yet it was unfathomably deep. Climbing down along its steep cliff walls took a very, very long time before one could reach the bottom. A careful estimate would reveal that the gorge floor lay even deeper than the seabed in many places.

By all reason, such a deep valley floor ought to have been pitch-black and strewn with jagged rocks. Yet that was not the case. At the bottom of the gorge stretched a level grassland, with a sun in the sky by day and moon and stars by night. If not for the steep mountain walls visible in the distance, one might have suspected they were standing on the grasslands outside.

Naturally, all of this was the handiwork of mighty gods.

The distribution of magical power on the Main Plane was lowest at sea level and steadily increased both upward and downward. Thus, the skies and the depths underground possessed the densest magical power. This gorge lay extremely low, so its magical power concentration was naturally exceptionally high, making it ideal for powerful creatures to dwell in.

Therefore, after the Orc Pantheon discovered this place in those early years, they transformed it into their residence.

When Orc gods had only just been born, most of them would live here for a time. Before the Goddess of Life constructed the great barrier that enveloped the Main Plane, this was even the residence of the chief gods of the Orc lineage. Thus, in time, it became the sacred land of the orc race.
