At the orc army's military council, the young Wilde, who had previously proposed forming a mobile force, suggested, "Keeping up this stalemate is getting the army nowhere. We might as well open another front and put more pressure on the humans!"
Emperor Ilo paused slightly and looked toward the staff officers.
He had always believed that professional matters should be left to professionals. He never made decisions on strategic matters himself, always consulting the experts first.
The staff officers had discussed this matter long ago, and now they all nodded in agreement.
"That's right. With the main army facing off against the humans here, we don't actually need so many troops."
"While we can't disband the troops and send them home to farm, it's still feasible to redeploy part of the army to attack elsewhere."
"And if we put more pressure on the humans, we may gain more opportunities on this front as well."
Since the staff corps was unanimous, Emperor Ilo nodded and approved the matter. He then had them arrange the troop deployments and choose a target to attack.
In truth, there was not much choice when it came to targets. There were only two directions from which the Orc Empire could attack human lands. Either eastward, to attack the Radiant Kingdom, or southward, to attack the Eagle Kingdom.
To attack the Radiant Kingdom, they would have to assault the sturdy Great Wall Defense Line. The two sides were currently locked in confrontation there, with minor clashes every three days and major battles every five. Yet neither side had achieved a decisive victory; they were merely wasting rations, supplies, and lives.
To attack the Eagle Kingdom, they would have to assault the Northern Fortress Complex, a chain of
