Background
Tang Hao was once the youngest Title Douluo in the Spirit Master world and one of the renowned Clear Sky Twin Stars. He wielded the Clear Sky Hammer and was feared for killing Spirit Hall's previous Pope. His past included the deaths of his mother and father, as well as the loss of his wife, Ah Yin, whose identity as a spirit beast was exposed before she sacrificed herself. 20 100
He raised his son Tang San in Holy Soul Village. When Tang San revealed that his second martial soul, the Clear Sky Hammer, had become cracked, Tang Hao struck him in anger, then regretted both his outburst and his past absence as a father. 3
After Lin Chen suggested that Tang Hao himself was a “harbinger of disaster,” Tang Hao blamed himself for the tragedies around him and left Nuoding City to avoid bringing further bad luck to Tang San. He left Yu Xiaogang an address for Tang San's future spirit-ring hunts and asked him to watch over Tang San. 20 21
Appearance
Tang Hao is a slovenly, disheveled middle-aged man with a raspy voice. He is repeatedly described as looking little better than a beggar, especially after his injuries worsen. 20 100
- Usually wears an unkempt, shabby appearance.
- Carries the imposing Clear Sky Hammer despite his otherwise neglected presentation. 100
- Loses an arm while surrendering a Spirit Bone to Yu Yuanzhen. 136
- Is later seen with an empty sleeve and a visibly diminished condition. 139
Personality
Tang Hao is fiercely protective of Tang San. He repeatedly risks his life, cultivation, and Spirit Bones to protect his son, even when he is physically incapable of winning. 101 102 136
He is also proud, forceful, and quick to resort to violence. He slaps both Tang San and Yu Xiaogang when angered, and initially underestimates Lin Chen because of his former standing as a Title Douluo. 3 51 128
His experiences leave him deeply self-blaming. Convinced that he is a jinx whose presence harms others, he distances himself from Tang San despite wanting to protect him. 20 21 79 His pride gradually gives way to resignation as repeated injuries and sacrifices strip him of his power. 102 130 136
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang Hao's martial soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, a powerful hammer-type martial soul associated with the Clear Sky Sect.
- Used as his primary weapon in every major battle. 99 129
- Its conductive nature leaves Tang Hao especially vulnerable to Lin Chen's lightning-based attacks. 130
- Tang San inherited the Clear Sky Hammer as his second martial soul, though Tang San's version awakened in a cracked state. 3 15
Clear Sky Avatar
Tang Hao's seventh Soul Skill merges him with the Clear Sky Hammer into a towering dark-red avatar.
- Greatly enlarges both his body and hammer. 99
- Used to confront Er Ming, the Titan Giant Ape. 99
- Aggravates the old injuries accumulated during Spirit Hall's pursuit. 99
Clear Sky Nine Absolutes: Break Formula
A powerful hammer technique used for direct, high-impact strikes.
- Collides head-on with Er Ming's attack during their battle. 99
- Used again against Lin Chen's Sky Thunder Space-Splitting Slash. 129
- Cannot overcome Lin Chen's superior lightning power and aerial advantage after Tang Hao's decline. 129 130
Ring Explosion
Tang Hao can detonate Spirit Rings to temporarily pour their power into his Clear Sky Hammer.
- An eight-ring simultaneous explosion severely injures and drives back Er Ming, allowing Tang Hao and Tang San to escape. 99
- Detonating his remaining rings against the Thin Tall Man gives him enough power to kill a Spirit Douluo. 102
- Repeated use permanently worsens his injuries and causes major losses in cultivation. 102
- In his final battle, he detonates all six remaining rings. 140
Great Sumeru Hammer
Tang Hao's ultimate hammer technique, used in conjunction with Ring Explosion.
- His final attack destroys Yue Guan's martial soul. 140
- The technique fails to save him from Yue Guan's immediate ninth-Soul-Skill retaliation. 140
Spiritual Power and Combat Experience
Even after falling below Title Douluo rank, Tang Hao retains exceptionally strong physique and spiritual power.
- Believes his Title Douluo-level body and spiritual power are sufficient to defeat Lin Chen without Spirit Rings or Soul Skills. 128
- Quickly dispels the Round-faced Bearded Man's vision-blurring area skill through spiritual power. 101
- His physical and spiritual advantages cannot compensate for his lost cultivation, injuries, and inability to counter flying opponents. 130

- Yue Guan and Gui Mei — Title Douluos sent to assassinate Tang Hao. Yue Guan fatally wounds him after Tang Hao's final Ring Explosion attack. 132 140
