Chapter Eleven: Wind Demon Tower
In the narrow alley, moonlight slanted down, spreading a cold white glow across the bluestone pavement.
Fallen leaves still drifted slowly, and dust still hung suspended in the air.
Yet the alley was already empty.
In its place—
A pitch-black Demon Tower no bigger than a palm hovered silently in midair.
The tower had nine levels. It was black as ink from top to bottom, its body assembled from countless carved bones.
The bones were small and intricate, layered one atop another and fitted together seamlessly, as if they had naturally grown into the shape of a tower.
At the joints between the bones, a faint dark-green radiance flowed, as though some ancient incantation were silently breathing.
Around the tower, a cyan-black sinister wind slowly coiled, wrapping around the entire Demon Tower and suspending it in the center of the alley.
The wind made no sound, yet it carried a heart-palpitating pressure, as if merely drawing near would cause one to be torn apart and devoured by the evil within.
Moonlight fell upon the tower but could not penetrate its dense darkness.
A moment later, the cyan-black sinister wind swirled slightly, enveloped the entire Demon Tower, and vanished soundlessly into the depths of the alley.
Silence returned to the alley, as if nothing had happened.
Meanwhile, inside the Wind Demon Tower.

With a muffled thud, Elder Ma suddenly fell from midair. His thin, gaunt body staggered two steps across the ground before he managed to steady himself.
