Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Over 300,000 years 128 Initially possesses strength equivalent to a human Super Douluo, with the Extreme North providing a home-terrain advantage.
Cultivation stripped and power sealed 129 130 Tang Wu’s Soul-Absorbing Array removes her soul ring and rapidly reduces her cultivation. She manifests as a little human girl; Tang Wu later suspects that her original power is sealed rather than permanently lost.
Less than one-tenth of original strength 134 Tang Wu’s transformation technique restores access to her scorpion form and part of her power, but includes a control backdoor.
About 70% of original strength 141 Her recovered strength is estimated at human Rank 91–92 when she appears beside Tang Wu.
380,000-year bottleneck 192 Her cultivation immediately before consuming Great Void Ice Spirit Grass is identified as 380,000 years.
450,000 years 192 Great Void Ice Spirit Grass improves her ice attribute and breaks her bottleneck. No heavenly tribulation arrives.
460,000 years 192 Five ordinary medicinal herbs raise her cultivation by another 10,000 years during Tang Wu’s experiment.
500,000 years 192 Reaches this threshold after consuming a hundred herbs. Their effects diminish with repeated use, but she again avoids heavenly tribulation.

Appearance

Ice Empress appears both as an ornate jade-colored scorpion and, after her defeat, as a petite green-haired human girl 127 129 130.

  • Original form: Over two meters long, with eight legs, a raised tail hook, and a crystal-clear jade-green carapace 127.
  • Golden markings: Luxurious gold patterns distinguish her arm guards from those of ordinary Ice Jade Scorpions 127.
  • Eyes: Dark-green compound eyes in scorpion form; emerald eyes in human form 128 130.
  • Human features: Long emerald-green hair, two small fangs, and a height reaching approximately Tang Wu’s waist when first transformed 130 134.
  • Clothing: Wears a jade-green skirt when emerging from Tang Wu’s Soul Ring Space before the confrontation with the gathered soul masters 187.

Personality

Ice Empress is proud of her rank and fiercely protective of her clan. On discovering that Tang Wu has taken in Little Ice, she treats the situation as enslavement and attempts to kill him without allowing an explanation. Her confidence in her strength makes her dismissive of his constructs and attacks 127 129.

Losing her power exposes a much more emotional side: she cries over her transformation, bites Tang Wu when humiliated, and then insists that nobody acknowledge her tantrum. Snow Empress notices that her behavior becomes increasingly human after she takes human form 130 131.

Her later attachment to Tang Wu does not eliminate her temper or concern for dignity. She becomes jealous when he pays attention to others, defends him against hostile nobles, and objects to being teased in public. She also boasts about their first battle, only to panic when she realizes he has overheard her 146 155 165 198.

Abilities & Skills

Ultimate Ice

Ice Empress possesses Ultimate Ice Soul Power, which she uses for freezing attacks and defense 128.

  • Fires repeated ice pillars and thousands of spikes, attacking Tang Wu both on the ground and in the air 128.
  • Suppresses an impending internal ice explosion after recognizing abnormal energy fluctuations inside her body 128.
  • Freezes a pond’s surface simply by revealing her true form, helping prevent the Golden Hawksbill Turtle from escaping underwater 153.
  • Her released aura sharply lowers the surrounding temperature and can force weaker opponents to their knees 141 147.

Pincers, Tail Hook, and Carapace

Her natural weapons combine speed and cutting power with exceptionally strong bodily defenses 127 129.

  • Tail hook: Crosses a ten-zhang gap before Tang Wu can physically react 127.
  • Supreme Great Pincer: Shreds the towering Blue Silver Gundam within a few breaths 129.
  • Carapace: Withstands Tang Wu’s explosive attacks and numerous soul skills without being breached 129.
  • Crowd combat: Returns to scorpion form and overwhelms gathered soul masters, sending a Soul Douluo flying with one sweep of her tail 187.
  • Defensive limit: Thirty-five Ice Explosion Talismans produce fine cracks in her carapace, although her Ultimate Ice prevents the more dangerous internal detonation 128.

Ice Jade Pincer and Armor Fusion

Her signature soul skill, Ice Jade Pincer, condenses Ultimate Ice until its hardness rivals the finest metals. Coordination with Tang Wu unlocks an armor-fusion application 152.

  • Becomes Ice Jade Emperor Armor, enveloping Tang Wu in ice-crystal protection 179 189.
  • Combines with his Life Burning state during the battle against Di Tian 179.
  • During that battle, Tang Wu breaks open the fused scorpion tail spike to reveal the Emperor Ice Scorpion Sword, which he uses to wound Di Tian and deflect a Dragon Wave 180.

Contract and Transformation

Tang Wu’s biotechnology gives Ice Empress transformation abilities through a contract that makes her something akin to an External Martial Soul 134 135.

  • Changes her shape through imagination, including returning to her original scorpion body 134.
  • Retains an independent body and intelligence while fighting alongside Tang Wu 135 187.
  • Control limitation: Tang Wu’s built-in backdoor can override her bodily control and force her out of an attack 134.
  • Tribulation avoidance: Her later breakthroughs occur without heavenly tribulation. Tang Wu proposes that their contract causes the tribulation to identify her as human; Ice Empress agrees with this explanation 192.

Aura Perception and Soul Ring Space Access

Ice Empress has an unusually sharp perception of auras and receives access to Tang Wu’s portable soul-ring space 137 151.

  • Recognizes Tian Meng’s scent on Tang Wu and interrupts an otherwise lethal strike to question him 127.
  • Detects Snow Empress’s nearby aura even when she cannot locate her 144.
  • Quickly recognizes an opponent’s impending self-destruction 151.
  • Can freely enter and leave the space within Tang Wu’s seventh soul ring through an access link he grants her 137.

Ice Explosion Technique — Unmastered Clan Skill

Despite her status as clan empress, Ice Empress has not mastered the Ice Explosion Technique. Little Ice possesses it, allowing Tang Wu to extract its imprint and reproduce it in talismans 125 126 128.

  • The technique freezes a target’s internal tissues and detonates them from within 125.
  • Ice Empress recognizes its familiar Soul Power fluctuations in Tang Wu’s talismans but is surprised that a human can deploy the skill 128.

History

Attack on Tang Wu’s Camp

Ice Empress follows the scent of Little Ice to Tang Wu’s underground camp in the Extreme North. Believing that he has enslaved one of her clansmen, she breaks open the camp and attacks. Tian Meng’s scent briefly interrupts her assault, but the confrontation resumes 127.

Tang Wu’s talismans, summoned scorpions, and Blue Silver Gundam fail to overcome her decisively. He instead constructs a Soul-Absorbing Array that draws on heaven-and-earth power, immobilizes her, and strips away her cultivation. When its light fades, she has become a small green-haired girl 128 129.

Recovery in Snow Empress’s Palace

Tang Wu initially cannot explain or reverse the transformation, although he suggests that her power may only be sealed. Snow Empress arrives, promises to restore Ice Empress, and takes both of them to her palace in the Extreme North’s core circle 130 131.

Tang Wu eventually restores her ability to change form and part of her strength. When she immediately tries to attack him again, he reveals the control backdoor in his technique. He later explains that transformation is only its surface function: the underlying contract allows a soul beast to act as an External Martial Soul 134 135.

Two years later, Ice Empress and Snow Empress witness Tang Wu successfully self-condense a soul ring without killing a soul beast. Ice Empress agrees to accompany him into the human world, and his portable Soul Ring Space resolves Snow Empress’s concerns about concealing her identity 135 136 137.

Tang Wu’s Combat Partner

In the human world, Ice Empress helps intimidate the nobles threatening Tang Wu’s mobile-phone business. At Zhao Family Villa, her released aura forces the assembled nobles to kneel 146 147.

She subsequently helps capture the Golden Hawksbill Turtle, guards Tang Wu during soul-bone absorption, and fuses with him as armor against Di Tian. She also attacks the soul masters opposing his control of the soul-ring market and provides armor during his battle with Bibi Dong 153 172 179 187 189.

Breaking the Cultivation Bottleneck

Tang Wu gives her Great Void Ice Spirit Grass, raising her cultivation from a 380,000-year bottleneck to 450,000 years. The absence of heavenly tribulation leads him to investigate whether their contract enables safe further growth 192.

His follow-up experiment raises her cultivation to 500,000 years with ordinary medicinal herbs. Ice Empress’s successful breakthroughs become practical evidence supporting his belief that humans and soul beasts can coexist through contracts rather than soul-ring hunting 192.

Relationships

  • Tang Wu — Initially an enemy who defeats and seals her; later her contract partner, trusted companion, and armor-fusion partner. Her attachment grows alongside persistent teasing, jealousy, and his ability to control her transformation 127 129 134 136 179.
  • Snow Empress — Close companion and protector. She comforts Ice Empress after her defeat, promises to restore her power, and joins her journey into the human world 131 137.
  • Little Ice — A member of her clan whose presence with Tang Wu prompts her original intervention. Little Ice is visibly terrified of her authority 127.
  • Tian Meng / Sky Dream Ice Silkworm — His scent is immediately familiar to her and has lingered in her memory for tens of thousands of years. Finding it on Tang Wu causes her to halt her attack and demand information 127.
  • Shui Bing’er and Shui Yue’er — Tang Wu’s acquaintances whom she reacts to jealously; later the audience for her boastful retelling of her first encounter with him 155 198.
  • Xiao Wu — Reacts fearfully to Ice Empress, displaying a predator–prey dynamic between soul beasts 138.
  • Di Tian — Opponent during Tang Wu’s confrontation with the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King. Ice Empress supports Tang Wu through armor fusion 179 180.
