"Come on, a few of you. Clean this entire villa from top to bottom."
As soon as he finished speaking, several lackeys hurried over.
In Slaughter City, the strong said what they wanted, and the weak did as they were told.
That was the rule.
An hour later.
Luo Yun turned and walked into the villa, then shut the door.
Ever since he had arrived, Luo Yun had been lounging lazily in a chair, reading and quietly waiting for the reckless fools who showed up each day.
Over the past several days, two hundred Soul Masters had already died by his sword. For two days now, no one had dared come looking for trouble.
Rumors were even spreading through the Inner City about a little six-year-old who bore the title of King and was invincible in Slaughter City.
That day, as Luo Yun was leisurely eating, he suddenly sensed something unusual. His brows furrowed, and he looked up toward the other side.
A golden-haired woman sat quietly nearby, eating. Countless men who had tried to take advantage of her already lay dead around her.
"Who is she?"
Luo Yun was taken aback. Why did this woman seem so familiar?
Had he seen her somewhere before?
He put down his bowl and chopsticks, quickly got to his feet, and walked toward Qian Renxue.
"You..."
Before Luo Yun could finish, a bone needle shot abruptly out of the darkness, moving so fast it was nearly impossible to detect. It streaked straight toward his throat.
Luo Yun's pupils contracted. He immediately dodged to one side.
"Whoosh~"
The bone needle missed.
Luo Yun's expression turned icy as he looked toward the dark corner. A shadow stood there, a black longbow drawn and aimed at him. The figure gave a cold snort. "Kid, you've been getting a little too arrogant lately."
"Dead men shouldn't stick their noses into other people's business!"
Luo Yun glanced at the shadow with scorn.
The commotion caught Qian Renxue's attention. She looked up, saw Luo Yun's back, and felt her heart tremble.
"It's him!"
Qian Renxue rose to her feet, her expression unchanged.
Luo Yun glanced at her, then turned his attention back to the man in black.
Then he sprang into the air, his body soaring toward the man in black.
The man in black was startled too and hurriedly drew his bow, taking aim.
An arrow shot out, erupting in a piercing shriek as it cut through the air.
Luo Yun was incredibly fast. After just a few leaps, he was already right in front of him.
"Boom!"
"Bang!"
The man in black's bone arrow was cleaved in two and fell to the ground.
"What?"
The man in black's eyes widened in disbelief.
Luo Yun said nothing. He simply drove a punch into the man's stomach.
The man's abdomen caved in, and a mouthful of blood sprayed out.
"Thud!"
The man in black crashed to the ground, unable to resist any further.
"Tell me. Who sent you?"
Luo Yun looked down at the man in black, his eyes glinting coldly.
Anyone bold enough to openly send an assassin after him had to hold considerable influence.
Could it be...
"Just kill me."
The man in black closed his eyes and no longer looked at Luo Yun, as though he had long since expected this outcome.
"King of Slaughter, is it?"
Luo Yun sneered. "Then I'll kill you right now!"
A murderous glint flashed in his eyes.
"Whoosh!"
A streak of cold light flashed by!
"Gurgle~ Gurgle~"
Fresh red brains dripped down his neck and splattered onto the floor, forming a pool of crimson blood.
Inside Slaughter City, in a luxurious palace, the King of Slaughter sat alone in the main hall.
"Master, we've found out what happened."
A middle-aged man entered from outside the hall and spoke respectfully.
The King of Slaughter gave a cold snort, his face murderous. "A bunch of useless fools!"
"Please calm down, Master!"
The middle-aged man hurried to explain. "That subordinate never revealed your name. That kid was only guessing."
Only then did the King of Slaughter's expression soften slightly. His voice calm, he said, "Forget it. Make sure he completes a hundred consecutive victories as soon as possible, then get him out of here."
Inside the tavern.
Luo Yun and Qian Renxue looked at each other, both feeling as though they had met before.
But he didn't think much of it.
Luo Yun sheathed the Moon Eclipse Sword, flicked the blood from its blade, and turned toward the tavern's exit.
The man in black's corpse still lay on the ground, blood seeping from the wound in his neck.
The people in the tavern had long since grown used to it. They couldn't even be bothered to look, and went on drinking, gambling, and flirting.
That was just how Slaughter City was.
Dead people were the least remarkable thing there.
Luo Yun walked out of the tavern, ready to head back to the villa.
"Wait."
A voice came from behind him.
Luo Yun didn't stop.
He kept walking, his pace steady.
"I said, wait."
The voice came again, closer this time.
Luo Yun could feel someone approaching from behind. Their footsteps were light, making almost no sound against the stone pavement.
He still didn't stop.
He didn't like trouble.
And in a place like this, anyone who came looking for you was trouble.
The footsteps behind him suddenly quickened. One step, two steps, three.
A golden figure swept past his side and moved in front of him, blocking his way.
Luo Yun finally stopped.
He raised his head and looked at the person before him.
Golden hair, blue-green eyes, features so exquisite she looked as though she had stepped out of a painting.
She wore a simple golden outfit with no unnecessary embellishments, but the innate nobility in her seemed etched into her bones. Nothing could conceal it.
Luo Yun studied her carefully.
Not because she was beautiful, but because there was something about her bearing that reminded him of someone.
And he had met that person before, by a river in the Star Dou Great Forest, on that afternoon.
The Heaven Dou Crown Prince named Xue Qinghe.
No, that wasn't right.
Xue Qinghe was a man, and the person before him was a woman.
But those eyes... that expression... that inborn, effortless air of nobility that needed no deliberate display.
Luo Yun's brows knitted slightly, but he didn't dwell on it.
In a place like this, people who thought too much died the fastest.
"Move," he said, his voice flat.
Qian Renxue didn't move.
She stood there, looking at the child who came only up to her chest. The corners of her mouth lifted slightly.
The curve was so faint it was almost impossible to tell she was smiling.
"You're Frost Cloud King?" she asked.
Luo Yun didn't answer.
"Six years old. You entered Slaughter City a month ago, and so far you've completed forty-seven matches without a single loss. More than two hundred desperate criminals have died by your hand outside the arena. Five days ago, you seized a standalone villa in the eastern part of the city, killed its former owner, but didn't take the two maids." Qian Renxue spoke at an unhurried pace, as though reading from a dossier. "The Inner City is full of rumors about a little one with the title of King who's invincible in Slaughter City."
She paused, the curve of her lips growing a little more pronounced.
"But I also heard your father is King Frost Extreme."
A flicker finally appeared in Luo Yun's eyes.
Not surprise, but wariness.
No one in Slaughter City knew about that identity.
Luo Yun looked into Qian Renxue's eyes.
"What are you trying to say?" Luo Yun's voice turned a little colder.
Before you continue
