When Chabashira-sensei left the school last year, Hachiman had asked her to bring a bouquet to Hiratsuka-sensei. Now, the bouquet Hiratsuka-sensei carried was huge—and it hadn't come from the school.
So.
Hiratsuka-sensei entered as a guest with flowers in hand.
According to Chabashira-sensei, she and Hiratsuka-sensei had been classmates. Chabashira and Hoshinomiya had just performed, so if Hiratsuka-sensei had come to see her friends, she should have given them flowers earlier. But she hadn't.
Even now, more than ten minutes after Chabashira-sensei and the others had finished performing, Hiratsuka-sensei still had not delivered them.

So was she going to do the same?
Hachiman could hardly imagine being given flowers by a female teacher.
Still.
As Hachiman watched, he noticed Haruno seemed to tug on Hiratsuka-sensei's sleeve and say something. Hiratsuka-sensei's eyebrows immediately curved downward.
She seemed to have given up on some plan.
They were too far away for him to hear, but he could vaguely guess: "Shizuka, Shizuka, that's not how you return a gift. You'll cause trouble for him. Besides, he's a student..."
The first half was pretty reasonable. This demon queen of an older sister actually seemed somewhat reliable.
But.
"Since you've already prepared the flowers, do me a favor and give them to me. I'll take them to my little sister later." —Haruno Yukino.
That was too much.
"Hachiman?" Ichinose, standing beside him, noticed his state. He seemed to be watching something closely.
"It's nothing," Hachiman replied quietly.
Then he continued displaying humanity's finest observational skills and shifted his gaze elsewhere.
Yeah.
Looking somewhere else was much more reassuring.
