Xu Feng stopped.
The four overseers all turned their eyes on him, and the atmosphere grew somewhat tense.
"I'm the Mine Boss on duty today. You can call me Suoduo."
The man's Common was impeccable.
"I've received reports from the upper levels saying you mined your way from the fourth level to the eighth.
You spent no more than half an hour on each level, and you revealed that you're a Mind Master... Heh, would that be you?"
He paused, looking Xu Feng up and down.
"That's me."
Xu Feng admitted it readily.
He stood before the gate, watching Suoduo calmly and waiting for him to continue.
Originally, he really hadn't wanted to expose himself at all. He had only wanted to search quietly.
But now that familiar psychic fluctuation was just below him, and all his other thoughts vanished in an instant.
Now he had only one thought.
"Don't be nervous. I'm not here to give you trouble." Suoduo's tone softened a little.
"Ever since you entered the mine, everything you've done has followed the rules.
You've exceeded your quotas, paid your passage fees, hidden or smuggled nothing, and attacked no one.
Since you've followed the rules, the mine will treat you according to the rules as well. That's our bottom line."
He gestured for Xu Feng to wait.
"But before you enter the ninth level, I need to ask you a question. I hope you'll answer honestly."
"Ask." Xu Feng was cooperative.
Suoduo frowned. "With your abilities, there's absolutely no need for you to work as a laborer in a mine.
A Psychic Master could find a much better job than this on any border planet.
You must have a reason for coming here to mine, right?"
Xu Feng fell silent for a moment, then said, "I'm looking
