Outside a private dining room at the restaurant.
Liu Mengyao stood holding a plate of food, listening to the conversation inside with a stunned expression.
She swallowed hard.
Then she turned and handed the plate to another server, claiming she had something to do before hurrying into the kitchen.
Nervously, she raised her communication watch and thought for a moment before quickly calling the Patrol Squad.
But as soon as the call connected, she hung up.
After thinking it over,
she called another number and said nervously, "Hello, Old Xu, it's me. Someone's trying to kidnap Xiao Dan."
Five minutes later.
At the restaurant's back entrance, Xu Feng said gratefully to Liu Mengyao, "Thanks. Are they still inside?"
Liu Mengyao nodded. "They are. It was the right thing to do. What are you going to do? Should I call the Patrol Squad to arrest them? Or..."
"You don't need to get involved. Whatever you hear in a moment, don't come in. Just call the Patrol Squad. Find Luo Feng and tell him what really happened."
Xu Feng glanced into the restaurant and spoke quietly.
"Okay." Liu Mengyao looked at Xu Feng. "What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to talk to them." Xu Feng turned and walked into the restaurant.
Liu Mengyao watched him go, pressed her lips together, and tightened her grip on the communicator.
"Knock, knock, knock—"
Stubble Man and the other three were eating as they discussed their next move.
Then someone suddenly knocked on the private room door.
All four looked toward the entrance at once.
A man they didn't recognize opened the door, walked in, and brazenly pulled out a chair to sit down among them.
"Who are you looking for?" Stubble Man looked up at Xu Feng in surprise, his face fierce.
