Background

Saina was raised in Wading Village as the daughter of the blacksmith Old Buck and Martha. In an earlier life, she spent sixty years with Su Li but believed herself inadequate because of her pockmarked appearance, poverty, and inability to bear children. She repeatedly described herself as only an ordinary village girl and urged him to seek a more suitable partner. 49

She and Su Li marry in a simple village wedding attended by the whole of Wading Village. Though nervous about village gossip, Saina is reassured by Su Li's open acceptance of her. 28

Memories of multiple lives leave her terrified of aging while Su Li remains young. After she tries to distance herself to spare him the pain of watching her grow old, Su Li brings her into his Family Group, allowing her lifespan and strength to synchronize with his. 69

Appearance

Saina initially appears thin, rough-handed, and pockmarked, usually dressed in coarse village clothing. She is deeply self-conscious about these traits. 49

After joining the Family Group, her body is restored by ether: her labor calluses peel away, and her skin becomes fairer, smoother, and healthier. 69

  • Often wears practical dresses, training clothes, or a blue kitchen apron. 99 104
  • Keeps her hair simply tied back while working or training. 131
  • Carries weapons or tools openly when she expects trouble, especially her battle axe or kitchen cleaver. 135 151
  • Later favors formal clothing that permits free movement and leaves room to wield an axe. 181

Personality

Saina is practical, frugal, and intensely domestic. She treats discounted food, useful tools, seeds, and household supplies as more valuable than extravagant jewelry or luxury goods. Her haggling, insistence on buying discounted pork ribs, and irritation at waste regularly contrast with Elena's noble spending habits. 109 110 123

She is fiercely possessive of Su Li and initially treats Elena as a romantic rival. Her jealousy is loud and direct, but it gradually gives way to an affectionate, family-like bond with Elena. 74 96 112

Despite her harsh language and impulsive temper, Saina is compassionate. She helps Elonore when the elf is lost in a crowd, refuses to let her leave the household, and distributes her vegetable harvest to apprentices and refugees before selling the remainder. 159 165 284

Abilities & Skills

Family Group Synchronization

Saina's extraordinary cultivation is primarily derived from Su Li's Family Group rather than conventional knight training.

  • Shares Su Li's lifespan and receives synchronized increases in strength. 68 69
  • Reaches knight tiers without studying a formal breathing technique. 115
  • Gains rapid recovery, ether-enhanced strength, and greatly extended longevity. 69
  • Must repeatedly adapt her daily movements after breakthroughs; she has broken cutting boards, bowls, and other household objects by using too much force. 119 254 255

Brute-Force Combat

Saina fights through overwhelming physical strength rather than refined technique.

  • Crushes an officer's helmet and knocks him unconscious when soldiers attempt to confiscate supplies. 176
  • Bends an iron bar into a folded shape, then straightens it by hand. 181
  • Defeats the fourth-tier retainer Morris with a single punch after disrupting his footing. 198
  • Prefers direct exchanges of strength and openly dislikes evasive opponents. 195

Battle Axe Use

A broad, short-hafted battle axe suits Saina's chopping-oriented instincts better than a sword.

  • Her fourth-tier axe was forged to maximize explosive force rather than use elaborate circuits. 144
  • Cleaves a waist-thick stump and the bluestone slab beneath it in one swing. 148
  • Elena trains her in sword fundamentals, but Saina's technique retains a distinctly practical, “country” style. 131

Cooking, Gardening, and Household Management

Saina considers food, crops, and a stable home as seriously as combat.

  • An accomplished cook known for stewed ribs, noodles, soups, and practical kitchen management. 111 159
  • Develops extensive vegetable plots, raises chickens, and tests salt-tolerant crops for use aboard the Ginkgo. 259 288
  • Designs practical shipboard living spaces, including planting areas and poultry facilities. 281
  • Teaches Old Buck and Martha a simplified breathing-and-exertion method to improve their health. 219

Equipment

  • Fourth-Tier Battle Axe — A nearly twenty-pound, broad-bladed axe forged specifically for Saina's strength-focused fighting style. 144 148
  • Fourth-Tier Soft Armor — Close-fitting protective armor capable of withstanding a peak third-tier strike. 157
  • Enchanted Kitchen Cleaver — A kitchen knife bearing a second-tier toughness circuit; its edge resists chipping and can cut bones. 238 239
  • Matching-knot bracelet — A birthday gift secretly arranged by Su Li and Elena; Saina wears it with pride. 111 144
  • Old Buck's iron hammer and Martha's apron — Keepsakes Saina brings home after her parents' deaths. 294

Relationships

  • Su Li — Husband and lifelong partner. Their bond survives repeated lives, shared cultivation, parenthood, and Saina's final death; he promises to find her again in future lives. 28 69 295 315
  • Elena Iris — Initially Su Li's rival partner, then Saina's close companion and household family. They bicker constantly but exchange gifts, protect one another, and share a long history across previous lives. 96 99 109 112
  • Old Buck — Father and village blacksmith. Saina remains devoted to him, improves his health with a simplified breathing method, and preserves his hammer after his death. 51 219 294
  • Martha — Mother. Saina returns to care for her as she ages and postpones the Ginkgo voyage when Martha's health worsens. 293 292
  • Elonore — Initially treated with suspicion, then accepted as family. Saina protects her from being taken away and mentors her through household work. 159 165 259
  • Little Stone — Her son with Su Li. Saina raises him around the kitchen and vegetable patch, later supporting his decision to explore the Far North. 295 301 303
  • Silver — The household cat. Saina scolds it for stealing food and ruining her garden but repeatedly feeds and shelters it. 104 261 288

Story Role / Major Arcs

Wading Village and the Family Group

Saina begins as Su Li's village wife, struggling with insecurity over her appearance, class, and lack of children. Her fear of aging becomes the reason Su Li first uses the Family Group to grant her a shared lifespan and synchronized strength. 49 69

Silver Crown City

After leaving Wading Village, Saina adapts to city life through cooking, gardening, shopping, and managing the household. Her conflict with Elena develops from open jealousy into mutual care, especially after Saina saves Elena from a poisoned needle and accepts Elena's birthday gifts. 81 96 99 112

Warrior of the Household

As her rank rises, Saina becomes a major defender of Su Li's household. She trains with Elena, acquires a battle axe, intimidates knights with her fourth-tier aura, and defeats Morris during the struggle against the old prince's retainers. 131 151 198

The *Ginkgo* and the Royal Wilderness

Saina reshapes the planned oceangoing ship into a home at sea, demanding planting beds, living quarters, and space for poultry. She oversees temperature-controlled agriculture, tests salt-tolerant vegetables at the shipyard, and ensures the first harvest benefits workers and refugees as well as her own household. 281 284 288

Family, Aging, and Death

Saina postpones voyages to care for her parents, grieves their deaths, and eventually becomes a mother. Though fifth-tier power slows her aging, it cannot stop it; she later suffers declining memory and health. She returns to Wading Village with Su Li in her final days, dies peacefully, and is buried beside him on the highest hill of Royal Wilderness. 292 294 295 303 309 315
