"I just took the scraps left on the table and kneaded them into two iron rings." Su Li was perfectly matter-of-fact. "I stuffed a rune inside."
Saina was disdainful. "You fooled her into running in circles with two pieces of scrap iron. That little girl's head isn't working right."
"At this level, you wouldn't even make it past the opening act in the noble circles of our royal capital," Elena commented.

Elven Merchant Association headquarters.
Elonore ran all the way back to the workshop in one breath.
Violet was frowning at a piece of magic metal when she saw her apprentice rush in, face flushed red.
"So reckless. Go out and come in again!" Violet put on a stern face and scolded her.
Elonore ignored her, raising both arms as though presenting a treasure. Around them were that pair of crude mithril bracers.
"Master, look! Master Su gave these to me!" The little girl's voice trembled.
Violet walked over and took one look. She nearly fainted on the spot.
They were plainly just two pieces of scrap iron casually stretched into shape. The first-tier rune inside was crooked and twisted, as though it had been blindly stuffed in.
"This is what that peerless genius gave you?" Violet felt as if her intelligence had suffered a tremendous insult. "Don't tell me you came running back here with red eyes over these two pieces of junk."
