No one knew why this Mutant Sea Beast had appeared here. All they were doing now was preserving the last sliver of hope for Japan.
Even if the worst truly happened, with them around, this country would still have a chance to be rebuilt.
They were accustomed to considering the worst-case scenario, but perhaps the outcome would not be as hopeless as they imagined.
Mutant Sea Beasts, especially powerful ones, theoretically had little interest in land. The ocean was vast enough, and a Mutant Sea Beast with such strength could claim territory far greater than anything it could occupy on land.
So there was no reason for this Mutant Sea Beast to be interested in their country. In terms of size, their nation was not even as large as a province in some countries.
But while logic said so, both humans and Mutant Creatures had sides that could not be explained by ordinary logic.
Some people walked normally down the road, yet when passing a tree, suddenly wanted to jump up and slap its leaves. Even if this Mutant Sea Beast did not intend to destroy their country, what could they do if it got the urge and decided to fire a shot at them?
There was nothing they could do.
So they had to think in terms of the worst possible outcome and carry this country's hope to another land.
The sky.
Thunderclouds churned as dark clouds blanketed the entire sky. The heavy black cloud cover rolled under the wind like enormous kaiju dancing through the heavens.
Beneath this dim sky, everything seemed oppressive and heavy. The air itself appeared frozen, devoid of any vitality.
Everyone in Japan looked at the sky, but there was not much expression on their faces.
