"It was only third place. It wasn't a big deal."
"But you—if even being in the top ten of the Psychokinesis Class counts as having poor talent to you, anyone who didn't know better would think your talent was actually terrible."

The class structure at their school differed from that of other schools. Each class was equivalent to a major at other universities, except the number of students was much smaller due to talent requirements—though there were still at least a hundred students.
One had to know that these hundred or so students had been selected from countless high school seniors, like an army fighting through thousands. Even if their talents did not qualify for a Sequence, they were still among the best below it. The fact that Sun Qiang could rank in the top ten among them was enough to prove his talent.
And while others might not know, Zhang Weiyang certainly did. Even among the top ten, Sun Qiang's talent ranked near the top. The only reason his ranking was lower was because his academic grades were poor.
If his academic grades had been even a little better, reaching the top five or even top three would not have been impossible.
"Hey, talent for studying is still talent."
"If you asked me to memorize all that stuff, I still couldn't do it even though my memory and comprehension have improved."
Sun Qiang waved a hand. He truly could not memorize that stuff. He had been like that in high school, and he was still like that now. The only reason he had gotten into this school was that his Superpower talent was decent enough to add a lot of points to his college entrance exam score.
