After changing his mind, Gid Lucione Deviluke looked at Boros with growing satisfaction.
Although Boros looked somewhat different from Deviluke, he completely matched Deviluke's aesthetic preferences. Moreover, it was easy to see from that hegemonic aura that Boros held no small status within his own civilization.
Though his strength was somewhat inferior to Gid Lucione Deviluke at his peak, the only ones in the universe capable of threatening him were ancient relics like himself.
"What is your relationship with Lala now?"
Gid Lucione Deviluke asked Boros.
Boros frowned at the question.
What was his relationship with Lala?
They were merely fellow group members. They could not even be considered friends.
Why was Gid Lucione Deviluke asking that?
Did he want to know what identity Boros had come to fight him under?
Then how should he answer?
Boros's silence did not strike Gid Lucione Deviluke as strange. Instead, he nodded as though it were only natural.
He assumed Boros was silent because he did not know how Lala felt about him.
That was perfectly normal.
As Lala's father, he knew perfectly well just how slow and airheaded his daughter was in such matters. She had no interest in men whatsoever. Perhaps she had not noticed Boros's affection at all and merely regarded him as a friend.
But did Boros want to be just friends with Lala?
He was willing to risk his life for Lala. What kind of friend could go that far?
Unless it was a friendship so profound and sincere that it defied imagination!
But could a man and a woman truly have such pure and profound friendship?
