Reflections on Watching the Conference Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Youth League of China

Our Communist Youth League exists as the vanguard and reserve force of the Communist Party of China. As an organization that bridges the past and the future, we must be keenly aware of the arduous task and heavy responsibility we bear.

After watching the conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China, I felt deeply the weight of the responsibility resting on my shoulders, and came to understand clearly what I ought to do. As a Youth League Member, I must be willing to endure hardship before others and enjoy comfort only after them. I must keep learning, growing and innovating through my studies, set my sights on a goal, and pursue it unwaveringly to the end.

As a young person in the new era, I must uphold and carry forward revolutionary traditions and fine conduct, put the people first, serve the people, and keep the Party's purpose firmly in mind. I must have firm confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and resolutely uphold the Two Upholds. I must remember my original aspiration and mission, keep learning about revolutionary history and culture, and pass down the revolutionary legacy and spirit. I must stay grounded and strive to be a good young person of the new era.

As the reserve main force of the Communist Party, the Youth League plays an irreplaceable role. As one of its members, I first feel immense pride, but more importantly, I must hold myself to strict standards: excel in my studies, be politically progressive, and engage wholeheartedly in activities. Since entering university, I have always remembered that I am a proud Youth League Member and have held myself to high standards in every respect. As a student, I have made learning my foremost task and have never slackened in the slightest, earning excellent marks in every subject in my final exams. But good grades are no reason for complacency; they motivate me to improve, mature, integrate into society, and shoulder the mission history has entrusted to us.

To be a qualified Youth League Member, one must hold advanced political convictions. Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, and the important thought of the Three Represents are political convictions that Youth League Members should possess, strengthening our conscious commitment and resolve to hold high the great banner and advance the great cause. We must establish sound ideals, beliefs, and views of the world, life, and values; resist the corrosive influence of decadent ideas; and improve our ideological and moral standards as well as our scientific and cultural knowledge. We must have a diligent attitude toward study and work, strive to learn science and culture, study and reflect diligently, dare to innovate, and work conscientiously. As Youth League Members, we must think boldly and creatively, continually tackle difficult engineering problems, and learn new technologies and skills. We must have the perseverance of water wearing through stone and an iron pestle ground into a needle, never settling for less and ceaselessly striving to climb higher. We must build a strong foundation of knowledge and keep it up to date, pursuing not only deeper learning but also greater practical ability.

Finally, we must be strict with ourselves and lenient toward others, set an example in life and study, learn humbly from others, take joy in helping people, and wholeheartedly help them make progress. We must engage in criticism and self-criticism, bravely correct our shortcomings and mistakes, consciously safeguard unity, put the collective interest first, and be honest and humble, setting an example for young people.
