How bewildered Zhoushan was,
The traces of time turned gray;
How desolate Nanjing was,
Our compatriots' bones had yet to grow cold.
A blood debt of three hundred thousand,
Never forgotten by the Chinese!
Fourteen years of invasion,
And iron bones standing firm!
Our forebears gave their whole lives,
And the red flag of Marxism-Leninism took root;
And so,
China was ours once more!
We, the new generation,
Dare not, cannot, will not forget
The pain of those days...
It cuts to the heart!
We follow in our forebears' footsteps,
Straw sandals on our feet, rifles in our hands.
We smashed the enemy's armored tanks,
And restored China's glory!
Behold China today,
With millions of hearts united;
Red flags flying everywhere,
And bright days ahead!
Only the boundless wilderness remains,
Snow cannot bury the heroes' dreams.
Wrapped in their horses' hides,
The red surges onward!
