After Jennifer was dealt a crushing blow by her best friend, she had been somewhat absent-minded these past few days. After all, perhaps her college life had ended before it had even begun. She had been observing her father these past few days. Her father was named Jack Jenkins—the man who wanted to rob a bank.

Over the past few days, Jennifer discovered that her father went to the bank every day. Combined with the fact that he had lost his job, she guessed some of what was going on. She still had not shown him her acceptance letter. She kept that exciting news hidden in her heart.

Searching for work online every day, Jennifer felt that she should help her father. Her mother's departure had not made her particularly sad. As the eldest daughter in the family, she had noticed her mother's abnormal behavior long ago. This day had finally come. She truly could not understand—was money more important than family? At such a difficult time, her mother had chosen to leave outright. Jennifer could not accept it. Hatred had completely replaced grief.

There was still some time before school started, so she could first find an hourly job. Any money she earned would help. However, such short-term work was difficult to find, and businesses were unwilling to go through that kind of trouble. Jennifer felt a little discouraged!

Mo Fei had not been idle these past few days either. He had already figured out what he wanted and studied accordingly. After taking one last look at Jennifer, he directly left her computer and entered the local telephone service provider's servers.

Mo Fei was extremely careful. Computer applications came with computer security as well, and the firewalls here were stronger than those on a home computer. Yet after entering, Mo Fei encountered no trouble at all. At the same time, he carefully avoided touching any data and instead slowly began to understand and take control of the place.

He did not dare let his guard down in the slightest. He truly did not know how effective his own defensive measures were. The firewall was completely unmoved by his arrival, just as it had been with the home computer. Mo Fei could not understand this at all. Perhaps it was because he had avoided those streams of light. None of the data here could touch him, so naturally nothing would disappear, nor would it trigger any warning mechanisms.

"Should be about enough. Let's see what level I'm really at!" Mo Fei had finally figured the place out. He decided to begin monitoring all landline calls in New York City. Mobile phones used Signal Base Stations, which were later routed to centralized locations. Mo Fei discovered that he could not manage both sides at once, so he ultimately chose to monitor landlines.

The instant he started, Mo Fei was stunned senseless. Not literally, of course. Rather, the countless conversations overwhelmed his human-style intelligent system thinking. In an instant, innumerable voices flooded in, their contents incomparably complex. Mo Fei found that he could not distinguish what they were saying at all. It was a complete mess, without the slightest clue where to begin!

Mo Fei was temporarily at a loss over this and hurriedly stopped monitoring. "Whew, I really underestimated how difficult this kind of surveillance was. Or maybe I'm not actually a true intelligent system?"

Mo Fei had taken things for granted. He thought he could process massive amounts of information. After all, his current state was extremely strange. He could not figure out the specifics, but it was ultimately similar to an intelligent system. After receiving vast quantities of information, there should naturally have been corresponding reactions, which would also help him better understand his own condition. But what happened? He was instantly left at a complete loss by the overwhelming information. He did not feel anything physically, but that confused, helpless feeling of having nowhere to start was extremely unpleasant.

"What should I do?" Mo Fei realized that he completely lacked an intelligent system's information-processing ability, which left him somewhat dejected. Compared with his incredible learning speed, his processing ability was simply pathetic.

Mo Fei held his head in both hands, but his angular body disgusted him even more. "Why not make myself a body first?" Having thought of this, Mo Fei did not act immediately. Instead, the idea gave him fresh inspiration. "Since I still think like a human, and I want to make this body more human-like, why not combine the two properly? My current state lets me modify things however I want. I probably can't die no matter what I do, right?"

Mo Fei came up with a bold idea. Since he wanted to create a virtual body made of data, he might as well integrate computer functions into it. His own mind could not process huge amounts of data, but he could write programs and incorporate them into his body, turning it into a powerful data-processing center.

It was actually quite simple. First, he would understand the structure of the human body. He already completely understood computer architecture, so he only needed to find comparable components within the human body, then use his written programs as human organs. He did not need to become an intelligent system. The data he received would not need to be processed by his own mind. Instead, the programs within his body would process it and give him the best answer.

Simply put, it would be a foolproof process. He would hand all the massive, complicated matters over to programs he had written, while he himself only needed to receive the final result! Thinking of this made him happy. He did not know whether it would work, but there was theoretically no problem. He did not have a computer, but he possessed a special data body capable of carrying all kinds of programs. He merely needed to turn them into organs and place them within his body.

The place where the human body processed information was naturally the brain. However, the brain was divided into many regions, and he could find that information directly online. Although humanity still did not fully understand the brain's structure, Mo Fei did not need anything that complicated. Simple divisions would be enough, like partitions on a hard drive.

He could also make use of the body's nerves and blood vessels. The nerves would be responsible for issuing commands to each program-organ, while the blood vessels would transport data. Bones and muscles could likewise be used for storage, and perhaps other functions could be developed as well, such as Combat Arts!

Once his imagination was unleashed, all kinds of wild ideas surged forth beyond Mo Fei's control. His instinct as a writer made it impossible for his thoughts to stop. Novels were inherently products of boundless imagination, and as a writer, the ability to think freely was extremely important. Mo Fei possessed that talent, though his writing had always been his weakness!

The more he thought, the more ideas he had. In particular, he thought about how he would eventually have a body of flesh and blood. He planned to use superhero genes for that body, so it would inevitably be powerful. A powerful body also needed the right methods to bring out its full potential, and Combat Arts was one of them. But how could he connect the two?
