Eugene's words piqued Gavin's interest.

After all, whenever a name like Nameless appeared in film, television, or literature, it usually meant there was quite a story behind it!

So, muttering to himself, Gavin turned to look at the Asian girl ahead.

She looked to be around five foot five, a fairly standard height. She wore only denim shorts and a white T-shirt. The shirt was somewhat revealing, and the pale pink sports bra beneath it was faintly visible.

Her shirt was not very clean, but that was normal. In the apocalypse, people had to make choices if they wanted to live well. Especially lone wolves—without a team to support them, they could not keep their clothes as consistently clean as Gavin did.

Even in the Alliance now, quite a few people had grown accustomed to wearing dirty clothes.

It was not that everyone had become dirtier. The apocalypse had simply made people care less about their personal appearance than they once had.

The Alliance had plenty of washing machines, but not everyone wanted to spend their time doing laundry. If they saved that time, they could get more rest. People who did not do much physical labor often failed to understand the exhaustion that seeped from the inside out after doing it for long periods. Just because someone lay around without moving after work did not mean they were lazy.

In reality, people who performed physical labor over the long term lived in a constant state of fatigue. Their bodies developed certain habits, including automatically seizing every chance to recover whenever they were not working. Put simply, they were just too tired, and their bodies did everything they could to recuperate!

And that was only one reason. The other was that work in the Alliance had largely been assigned
