As his words fell, Gavin stood at the door of the RV, turned back into the biting cold, and looked at Mimir.
Mimir hesitated for a moment, then said with an innocent expression.
"Uh, Boss, I just—I personally prefer this weather and temperature. It's very close to my hometown's climate. You know, I only came to America as a tourist. If not for the apocalypse, I should've gone home with my siblings by now."
"My home is Bodø, in northern Norway. It's already within the Arctic Circle.
"At this time of year, back home, the temperature would be at least minus five to minus eight degrees Celsius. Texas is already plenty warm. I even think it's a little hot!"
As he spoke, Mimir innocently unzipped his coat and showed Gavin the tank top underneath.
Looking at Mimir's fair, rosy skin, Gavin amusedly punched him on the shoulder.
Sure enough, even with only a denim jacket and a small tank top on, Mimir's body was astonishingly warm.
No wonder he was someone who lived in the Arctic Circle year-round!
While Gavin was stunned by Mimir's resistance to the cold, Mimir zipped his coat back up and casually said to him.
"Back home, I liked going out into the wilderness to soak in hot springs while it snowed. A man has to be able to endure the cold—that's what being a fucking man means. So I basically never turn on the RV's heater. I'm really not trying to save that little bit of fuel!"
"These days, there aren't many people left, and there are only a few cars still running on the roads. Fuel depots are everywhere, completely unattended. There's more fuel than we could ever use. Why would I save it?"
"Boss, you don't need to worry about me. Really!"
