"Enough. I know enough now."
At that, Gavin clapped his hands lightly, bringing tonight's little gathering to an end.
Clearly, although Home had done everything it could to entertain the Alliance's people, the Alliance's leadership was not foolish enough to let its guard down easily.
Everyone in the Alliance, including Eugene the drunk, had gathered a considerable amount of basic intelligence on Home from every aspect of their interactions that they could.
Once that information had been pieced together and compared against Gavin's conversation with General Elijah that afternoon,
Gavin had a fairly clear picture of Home's situation.
So Gavin patted Eugene on the shoulder and continued speaking to the others.
"I've learned just about everything I need to know. What you found out also lines up with my conversation with the general. Home's situation really isn't good. In fact, it's much worse than we imagined."
"There aren't just problems with the system here. There are class conflicts, too, and they're also facing external threats."
"The way I see it, those external threats actually saved the general and his people. Without them, I think Home would probably fall apart within a few months, without any enemy needing to attack."
At that, Gavin accepted the coffee Jon brought over and slowly took two sips.
After those two sips, Gavin set down his coffee cup and took the plate of fried sausages Jon had gone back to the stove to fetch.
He picked up a fork, speared a sausage, and passed the plate around.
Watching Gavin warm his alcohol-soaked stomach with hot fried sausage, Eugene could not help mumbling groggily.
"So, boss, since we've figured out everything about Home-what do we do? Should we just-"
"Enough, Eugene. We can discuss intelligence about Home after drinking, but we absolutely must not make decisions
