The blade was inches away.
And Sasuke's face was cold as ice.
Most terrifying of all was the icy killing intent shining from his scarlet, six-pointed-star pupils.
Gamabunta had no doubt that if the First Snow Shadow hadn't called out just now, he'd already be a dead toad—and one split clean through. He'd been completely powerless to resist. He'd never faced an enemy as terrifying as Uchiha Sasuke, not even in his prime. He'd heard of the Uchiha clan's strongest all-around secret technique, Susanoo, but now he'd witnessed its terror firsthand.
He hadn't been able to fight back at all.
That blade had gleamed right before his eyes.
This was the first time Gamabunta had ever come so close to death.
And in that moment,
he finally gave up struggling.
For one thing, he knew it was useless.
For another, he'd heard the familiar voice of Lord Fukasaku. Otherwise, even if struggling was pointless, Gamabunta would at least have gone down with some dignity.
"So weak!"
Sasuke shot Gamabunta a cold look, then withdrew his blade and closed his Sharingan. The Susanoo around him vanished as well. His words dripped with utter disdain. Gamabunta was furious, and his already fearsome expression twisted into something even more savage, but that was all he could do.
After coming face-to-face with death,
the leader of the Third Generation of Toads on Mount Myōboku had become much more 'sensible.' Fukasaku had hurried over from nearby, and when he saw that Sasuke had stopped short of actually killing Gamabunta, he breathed a huge sigh of relief. Sasuke's Susanoo had badly injured him, but as long as none of his limbs were missing, it wasn't a problem.
Mount Myōboku didn't want to pick a fight with these two terrifying men!
And that was without even mentioning
