"Hey! Why, Sasuke? Why did you make this decision?" Naruto truly could not understand. Had Sasuke not already let go of his hatred for Konoha? Why had things turned out like this?
Naruto had thought that after Sasuke and Itachi dealt with Yakushi Kabuto, Sasuke would head to the battlefield with him to defeat the man called Obito Uchiha and bring peace to the world. Yet Sasuke had made such a decision?
"Hmph, Naruto, you're still as naïve as ever. I have my own choice. If I don't find an answer that convinces me, I won't help you!" Second Pillar said coldly, the chill in his eyes plain for anyone to see.
"But!" Uzumaki Naruto said unwillingly, "The Ninja World is facing a great disaster right now. If Akatsuki's plan succeeds, then even if you get the answer you want, it'll be useless!"
Naruto could not understand why Sasuke was being so stubborn. Back then, it might have been because of his desire for revenge, but what about now? Wasn't Itachi's explanation enough to put Sasuke at ease?
Could Sasuke not tell which matters were important and which were not?
Naruto felt somewhat powerless. Just like back then, he could not change Sasuke's resolve. His determination was so solemn, so utterly unshakable.
"None of that has anything to do with me. Right now, I only want an answer that will satisfy my heart! Naruto, I once considered you a brother too, but ideals and reality are different!"
"The hatred of a clan—what is peace? What is righteousness? I need answers! I don't want to be anyone's pawn! I have my own views, my own decisions! Naruto, you found your own answer. I need to find the answer I should have as well!" Second Pillar's voice rang with absolute conviction!
