While the Chunin Exams were in full swing within the Forest of Death.
In a secluded corner of Konoha, within an ancient residence.
Warm sunlight spilled across the courtyard floor. A slender figure stood with one leg slightly bent, leaning against a pillar in the covered corridor as she gazed hazily at the scenery outside.
Her blonde hair stood out brilliantly beneath the sunlight, and the flushed red on her cheeks was utterly intoxicating.
"Burp..."
But at that moment, the woman let out a drunken burp without the slightest concern for her image!
Then, with her slender fair hand, she tightly grasped the bottle of liquor beside her and took a deep swig. Its fiery taste immediately spread through her rosy mouth.
"What a rare pleasure!"
The woman said happily, putting on a carefree air, before taking another drink.
After the second sip, her gaze seemed to grow even more unfocused, and the flush on her face became even more vivid.
Yet the next moment, her moist eyes dimmed slightly. A self-mocking smile curled across her lips as she murmured in a muddled voice.
"Too bad you'll never be able to see such beautiful scenery again..."
As she spoke, one of her slender white arms slowly raised the liquor bottle beside her, pouring the remaining half-bottle onto the earth beneath the covered corridor.
After doing that, she seemed to lose all interest in drinking any further.
She stared blankly at the ground below the corridor. Though her face was faintly red, her eyes were filled only with confusion and loss.
"Chirp, chirp, chirp..."
Summer cicadas softly called from the branches in the courtyard, adding a touch of charm to the leisurely scene.
