"That tiny piece of Green Kryptonite—how did it drain all the energy Clark had stored in his body after combining with some unknown factors? He's as weak as an ordinary person now, and even the rate at which he absorbs energy is slower than before."
In the lab, Dilos looked at the Green Kryptonite, about the size of his thumb, and at Clark, who was still unconscious beside it. He felt conflicted. It was true: the light and radiation energy inside Clark had disappeared. The clearest proof was that when Dilos's qi came into contact with Clark's body, it met no resistance.
Dilos had once used the feedback from his qi to locate the meridians and acupoints in Clark's body, but only after using Blue Kryptonite to temporarily suppress Clark's powers. Otherwise, the moment Dilos sent his qi into Clark, it would have been bounced right back.
When he'd treated Clark earlier, Dilos had thoroughly checked his body for traces of Blue or Green Kryptonite. After a while, he'd found no traces of Kryptonite fragments at all, and Clark's physique seemed no different from an ordinary person's. Taken together, all of this confirmed that the energy Clark had absorbed was gone. If he wanted his powers back, he would have to spend time absorbing energy all over again.
As for how long it would take him to recover completely, Dilos had no idea. He still didn't know enough about Kryptonian physiology, and this was a real world. He couldn't just arrogantly apply everything he'd read about Superman in comics, movies, and novels in his previous life.
"Besides, these Green Kryptonite fragments left in Smallville are seriously nasty. Every damn thing seems to have something to do with them."
Looking at the tiny piece of Green Kryptonite in his hand, Dilos
