After finishing his discussion with Lex, Dilos immediately returned to Isla Sorna to prepare for the next operation. Because of this unexpected incident, he couldn't resolve Alec Summers's problem right away, so he had to leave him in Lex's secret laboratory with the Blue Kryptonite.
As for explaining his abilities to Chloe and the others, Dilos had left Chloe a letter, telling her only that they were related to the serum. He had kept everything else secret. Given the current situation, knowing too much wasn't a good thing.
As soon as Dilos returned to the underground base on Isla Sorna, he ran into Michael Corvin, whom he hadn't seen in a while.
Michael looked much better than before. The most obvious change was that he no longer wore a gloomy expression all day.
"Hey, Michael, you're looking well."
Dilos patted him on the shoulder. "Are you getting used to your new life?"
"Although it's quite different from my old job, I'm enjoying it." Michael smiled faintly. "Not everyone gets to be a dinosaur doctor, even if they're only an intern."
"Would you be interested in treating carnivorous dinosaurs?"
"To be honest, that kind of doctor's job does get the blood pumping." Michael looked a little exasperated at Dilos's joke. "But I think I'll pass—unless the carnivores are newborn hatchlings."
"Adult carnivores are pretty cute, actually. They're huge, but all you have to do is wave, and they'll come over like giant pet dogs, begging to be petted."
"Come on, Dilos. You're the only one who can pull that off."
Michael punched Dilos lightly, then got straight to the question on his mind. "Why did you ask me to come here? Do you need to draw my blood again?"
"Yes."
Dilos nodded and headed toward the secret passage to the laboratory.
