Although Manhattan, where Midtown High School was located, was very far from Xavier School, it wasn't all that far for Dilos, whose normal movement speed reached 120 meters per second.
So instead of taking a car or a plane, Dilos chose to run there. Would the afterimages he left behind while running scare passersby? Dilos figured that unless someone could keep up with him, they'd just think their eyes were playing tricks on them.
And so, after spending an amount of time that was neither long nor short, Dilos finally arrived once more at Dr. Connors's private laboratory at Midtown High School.
More than half a year had passed. After renovations, the laboratory Kingpin had destroyed no longer looked completely ravaged, but compared with its former, somewhat futuristic appearance, the renovated exterior still seemed rather run-down.
"Dr. Connors has had a rough time."
Dilos sighed softly. After using telepathy to control the security guards inside, he slowly walked in.
As soon as he entered, Dilos realized he was wrong. The laboratory didn't merely seem more run-down than before; it was in a terrible state. Apparently, the problem was a lack of funding. Not only were many advanced pieces of experimental equipment missing from Dr. Connors's new laboratory, but even much of the basic research equipment seemed rather low-grade.
"Good thing I came here ahead of time. Otherwise, who knows how badly these low-grade instruments would have held up Dr. Connors's research?"
Thinking this, Dilos made his way to Dr. Connors's inner laboratory with practiced ease. Ignoring the strange looks from several graduate students nearby, he called out to a middle-aged man with dark golden hair who was watching the students put their skills into practice.
