After telling the Kents about Clark, Chloe planned to drive over and meet up with them.
But when she reached the school gate, her face couldn't help tightening in dismay. The towering steel gate had been shut, secured with a specially made iron chain. If she wanted to drive out, she could only find the guard and have him unlock it.
That created another problem.
From where she stood, she could see everything inside the guardroom. Unfortunately, the guard was nowhere to be seen.
Chloe guessed that the dutiful guard had probably gone to the bathroom and would return if she waited a while.
But Chloe simply didn't have time to wait. So, from angles where no one could notice, she used her own strength to destroy the surrounding cameras. Then she rushed to the gate and violently tore apart the chain with her serum-enhanced body.
Looking at her handiwork, Chloe couldn't help twitching her lips.
"Good thing I listened to Lex and got the serum back then. Otherwise, this would've been a real pain."
With that thought, Chloe quickly pulled open the gate and ran toward where she had parked. But before she had gone far, five men and women blocked her path.
At first, Chloe didn't think much of it and simply tried to go around them. But every time she moved, someone among the five shifted to block her.
"What do you want?!"
Chloe snapped irritably, but the five said nothing. They merely stepped toward her, one step at a time.
Sensing that something was wrong, Chloe instinctively backed away a few steps and tried to reason with them. "Fine, I admit that I may make some people uncomfortable sometimes. But as far as I know, that shouldn't result in being surrounded and attacked, should it?"
As
