Dilos estimated how long Clark would need to recover. To avoid making Clark suspicious, he turned around and patted him on the shoulder.

"All right, I think you've heard enough from me. Go back and give it some more thought." Dilos patted Clark on the shoulder, then prepared to leave. After all, he'd already accomplished what he'd set out to do.

Screeeeeech!

As soon as he said that, Dilos saw Clark's pupils contract sharply, as if he'd seen something terrifying. Almost at the same moment, Dilos heard the piercing squeal of tires. A sense of danger surged through him, assailing his mind as if he could die at any moment. And as the sound drew closer, the feeling that death was bearing down on him grew stronger.

There was no time to think. Every muscle and bone in Dilos's body moved at full speed. He raised his hand and pressed it against Clark's chest, trying to shove him away, while Clark tried to do the same to him. But with Dilos standing beside him, the blue Kryptonite on Dilos's person naturally kept Clark from using his powers.

Dilos's muscles vibrated furiously. He got a hand on Clark's shoulder first and hurled him six or seven meters away! Then he used the force of the shove to propel himself upward, his waist muscles snapping into action! The combined force of his movements lifted him four or five meters into the air.

Then Dilos felt a gust of wind rush past beneath him. The next instant, the object that had brought the wind with it smashed through the bridge railing and plunged into the lake.

Dilos twisted in midair and landed safely on the ground in a Tiger Form stance. He immediately looked toward Clark, whom he'd shoved away. To his surprise, the future Superman seemed to have temporarily lost his powers because of the blue Kryptonite on Dilos, and had passed out when he hit the ground.

"Uh..." Knowing he'd accidentally screwed Clark over, Dilos rubbed his forehead helplessly. Then he looked down at the lake, just in time to see the car's rear end disappear beneath the surface.

"Tsk." Dilos clicked his tongue in irritation. Anyone would be in a bad mood after nearly getting hit by a car. If he hadn't spent years training in Guoshu, which had given him the ability to react in time and dodge, he'd have been dead!

"Damn it. If I don't get some money out of you to make up for my emotional distress, I'll change my name around!" Dilos tugged at the corner of his mouth. He quickly put the syringe from his sleeve into a box he'd prepared in his backpack, then dropped the backpack and dove into the lake.

As soon as he entered the water, Dilos engaged every muscle in his body and swam downward rapidly with a fish-like technique. The lake was eight meters deep, but he reached the bottom in just one second.

He spotted the silver Porsche sports car, battered from the impact, and immediately fixed his gaze on the driver, who was completely unconscious inside.

The crash had badly damaged the car, warping the doors and roof around the driver's seat. Pulling the door open would take too much time and effort, so Dilos struck out several times underwater. His palms sliced through the water, sending several streams toward the shattered windshield, which they smashed completely.

He unfastened the man's seat belt, yanked him out through the windshield, then kicked and paddled swiftly back to shore with him.

As soon as he reached the shore, he pressed a hand against the man's back. An Jin surged within him, and a burst of qi flowed from his palm into the man's body.

Cough!

The man's eyes flew open. The water in his lungs came out, and his breathing, which had stopped, returned to normal.

He was a bald white man, around twenty-three or twenty-four years old. He was now sprawled at the water's edge, gasping for breath as if he couldn't get enough air no matter how hard he tried. It took him quite a while to turn and look at Dilos.

"You... you..." The man stared at Dilos, too dazed to react at first. His face twisted with pain, and only after a long moment did he say, "You jumped really high."

Dilos's mouth twitched. "If I hadn't jumped high enough, you would've run me over!"

"Uh..." The man's expression stiffened, and he gave an awkward smile. "I'm very sorry. I swerved to avoid a log lying by the side of the road, and the car went out of control."

Then he sat up and offered Dilos his hand with a friendly smile. "My name's Lex. Lex Luthor. Thanks for saving my life."

"Lex Luthor?" Dilos muttered. A nagging feeling told him something was wrong. He felt as if he'd forgotten something. Only then did he take a closer look at the man.

Handsome, around twenty-three or twenty-four, about six-foot-one by Dilos's estimate, dressed in an expensive suit and shoes, wearing black, fingerless, rather eccentric gloves—and sporting a completely bald head.

Bald, named Lex Luthor, and apparently rich...

At last, Dilos realized who the guy in front of him was.

"Damn, isn't this Superman's arch-enemy, that scumbag Lex Luthor?! If I'd known, I wouldn't have saved him!" Dilos was shocked, but kept his expression steady. He reached out and shook the man's hand.

"My name's Dilos, Dilos Sullivan. You're Lex Luthor of LuthorCorp, right?"

Though he was already sure who the man was, a little small talk was still necessary.

Lex smiled at his reply, apparently pleased.

"That's right. Even if there were someone else with the same name in the world, I doubt there'd be another Lex Luthor who's bald." Lex made a witty joke.

"All right." Dilos shrugged. "But you should drive slower next time, man. You nearly scared me to death."

Dilos spoke neither humbly nor arrogantly, as if the other man's status meant nothing to him. Lex smiled awkwardly and said no more.

Clark had seen all of this from not far away. He'd woken up when Dilos jumped into the lake to rescue someone. Not long after, he saw Dilos bring Lex ashore. He instinctively ran to the bank at super speed, but for some reason, he didn't approach the two of them.

He simply watched Dilos with a complicated expression, wondering,

Why did I pass out just from being shoved by him?

Quite some time had passed, and the police had arrived. Chloe had been called by the police, and now, her eyes red, she scanned the area and spotted Dilos, soaked from head to toe. A surge of anger rushed through her, and she instinctively shouted,

"Who was that maniac behind the wheel?!"
