Dilos moved quickly. As soon as the two Lizard Monsters had finished eating those people, he scooped up Qin Jiayin and raced up the wall against the force of the wind, reaching the rooftop in no time. But to keep his face from being caught by a camera or other surveillance equipment, he'd already put on the skull mask from his backpack. He'd also grabbed a discarded coat from the supermarket and thrown it on.
For now, they were safe. Dilos glanced at Qin Jiayin, who had been staring at him with a dazed expression the whole time, and sighed helplessly. Then he slowly set her down. Only then did she finally seem to realize what had happened.
"You... you..."
She looked at Dilos, trying several times to open her mouth and say what was on her mind, but each time she failed to get the words out.
She was simply too shocked. She'd never imagined that Dilos, whom she'd known for only a few days, had superpowers.
As if he'd guessed what Qin Jiayin was thinking, Dilos said, "This is a secret of mine. I don't want anyone else to know about it. Just like you wouldn't want your own secret exposed, can you help me keep mine?"
Qin Jiayin froze. When she finally understood what he meant, she whipped her head toward Dilos.
"You already knew?"
"Yeah. I was pretty sure when I first saw you a few days ago." Dilos nodded, then stared at her with a pitiful look. But since the terrifying mask hid his face, she didn't feel sorry for him at all. If anything, she found him a little creepy.
In the end, Qin Jiayin nodded under the 'deadly' gaze Dilos fixed on her.
Dilos smiled, then said, "Let's wait here for a while.
