After Jack came out of the tent, he stood alone by the shore, gazing at the ocean behind the camp as he sank into thought.

"Jack, what do you think of the country you served and risked your life for all those years?"

"You worked so hard for this country for over a decade, only to be made a scapegoat for such a ridiculous reason. Do you think it was worth it?"

"Think about your men, Jack. Yes, when war came, none of them were afraid to die in battle. But do you really want them to spend the rest of their lives like corpses, saddled with false charges by those bastards?"

"Join me, Jack."

"I can show you a better future. Let's bring light and life back to this filthy world. Let your teammates clear their names and reclaim the glory that belongs to you all..."

Even if it meant Jack might be torn to pieces, that conviction had still driven him fearlessly forward!

But what had happened in the end?

After the tragedy of the Day of Purgatory, he had not only lost many comrades, but had also been saddled with a disgraceful label for no reason.

He had been cast aside without a second thought, all because of the power struggles among those at the top.

It was impossible for Jack not to hate, feel anger, and feel disappointment over it.
