At night, Dilos wore a black hood, covering his distinct blonde hair and face. He snuck through the window and slipped into the nursing home.

Compared to the daytime, there were fewer nurses at night, which provided some convenience for Dilos's infiltration. Utilizing his agility, he climbed walls and crouched in corners, arriving at Room 412 before long.

Just as Dilos prepared to knock, Cassandra's voice drifted from inside the room.

"If you've come, just hurry in. No need to knock."

Dilos felt a jolt in his heart, his breathing quickening for a moment. Within two seconds, he instinctively controlled his breath, suppressed the turmoil in his heart, opened the door, and walked inside.

Upon entering, Dilos saw Cassandra sitting in a chair, wearing a cotton-padded jacket. Although her silver-white eyes were blind, Dilos always had the feeling that she was looking right at him.

It seems you really can foresee the future, Dilos thought, his mood turning somber.

"Come over and sit, young man." Cassandra seemed not to notice the implication in his tone, smiling at him like an ordinary, kind-hearted old woman.

Dilos hesitated at her words. Cassandra seemed to sense his hesitation and said with a helpless expression, "Young man, I know you are afraid of the unknown. I don't mind; everyone feels that way. But I am just an ordinary old woman here. Are you worried that I might eat you?"

I actually do have that thought.

Thinking this to himself, Dilos remained expressionless, though his feet showed no sign of moving.

To this, Cassandra let out a bitter laugh. "People who learn I can foresee the future usually come to find me later. I imagine you are the same, young man. You want to know your future, don't you?"

She added, "You won't accomplish anything by being timid."

Hearing this, Dilos frowned, then slowly walked over to a chair beside her and sat down.

"That's right." Cassandra seemed very pleased, then went straight to the point. "Don't be nervous, child. You don't need to be so restrained here. What is it you want to know?"

Dilos was silent for a moment before speaking slowly. "Everything about the prophecies you made for me. Also, is fate truly unchangeable? Is our destiny controlled by some entity?"

"Oh, you are quite greedy, child. It's not easy to answer so many questions at once."

Cassandra didn't seem surprised by his questions. However, she replied, "I will answer the first two. But first, I want to ask about your last question: why do you think fate is controlled by some entity?"

"Because that's how the world is, isn't it?" Dilos sneered. "Those in power deal with ants by using various methods to make them follow their own scripts. Ants that don't follow the script are crushed by those in power."

Cassandra was stunned, her face filled with disbelief. "Child, I don't know how you think, and I don't know if what you say is true or right. I cannot give you an answer."

"To be honest, I am full of doubts about my own abilities. I am also troubled by why I have this power and what the meaning of possessing it is..."

Dilos listened quietly to Cassandra's narration while focusing his internal energy into his ears, enhancing his hearing so he could clearly hear her heartbeat in this environment to judge if she was lying.

"But..." Cassandra's tone shifted slightly. "You don't know how unique you are, child."

Dilos: "Oh?"

At this, a very happy smile appeared on Cassandra's face. "Just like what you said about whether fate can be changed. I once doubted that fate could be changed. In these twelve years, I have prophesied for too many people, and many of them suffered just as the prophecies foretold. But after I held your hand during the day..."

As she spoke, Cassandra suddenly felt her throat go dry and began to cough. Seeing this, Dilos quickly handed her a glass of water from the table.

After drinking the water, Cassandra felt much better. She continued, "I saw it. I saw that many of the images that should have been filled with grief had vanished. Some of them became ordinary, and some were filled with laughter."

Dilos listened carefully while amplifying his hearing to monitor her heartbeat. In his judgment, the heartbeats were normal, with no signs of lying. Although, if he considered the worst-case scenario, she could be a master liar, making her heartbeat appear normal. But... Dilos felt there was no need to be so paranoid; being too suspicious wasn't good, and he should give her some trust.

"Even your friend Clark Kent is like that." At the mention of this, Cassandra seemed even more interested, though she hesitated, unsure if she should speak.

Seeing her hesitation, Dilos understood her inner thoughts. Since she could foresee the future, she must have seen it when she interacted with Clark today. He said, "I have known about Clark's secret of having superpowers for a long time. It's just that if he doesn't want to talk about it, I won't point it out."

Hearing this, Cassandra nodded. "Your friend Clark—many of the futures I saw for him involved him alleviating the suffering of the world. I once thought his destiny was to help the world. But..."

She pondered for a moment before continuing. "I saw that his future is very lonely, and his path is very, very arduous. It could even be said to be... well, I don't know how to put it. I always feel it's impolite to say so."

"A saintly personality, obsessed to the point of being pathological, blind, and causing a whole bunch of people around him to die for ridiculous reasons," Dilos blurted out. The tragedies caused by the saintly personality of Superman from his previous life were often criticized by the audience.

"Uh..." Cassandra was confused for a moment, seemingly not expecting Dilos to be so blunt about her inner thoughts. Seeing this, Dilos didn't want to reveal his secrets, so he made up a lie. "Because he is already doing that now, and he has no intention of changing."

"Heh." Cassandra couldn't help but chuckle. She then said, "That was before."

Seeing Dilos's confusion, she continued, "After meeting you today, I looked at his future again. His future has changed, and it is ever-changing and unfathomable. Although his fate fluctuates between good and bad, I can see some commonalities. At the very least, he is no longer lonely and is living much more happily."

Dilos was stunned, and Cassandra smiled. "You are very special, child. During our contact today, I found that although your future is chaotic and impossible to see clearly, everyone who comes into contact with you undergoes some degree of change. Some have died, and some have lived. For example, a girl named Tina—she should have been dead, but she is currently staying safely at home."

"Dilos." For the first time, Cassandra called his name so formally. She looked at him with eyes full of gravity.

"You are very special, child. Regarding your question about whether fate is controlled by someone, I don't know. But I do know that your fate is unpredictable, and you always change others, whether for better or worse. Finally, there is one thing I must say: no matter what, be full of expectations for the future and be yourself. Regardless of whether the future becomes bad, just be yourself."

Looking at her solemn eyes, Dilos felt a mix of emotions, but in the end, he nodded.
