What was the "common" news in America in the previous life? It was a stressed-out, psychopathic madman taking a gun to a crowd, indiscriminately mowing people down in a killing spree to take revenge on society.

Now, what would someone with superpowers and a heart full of twisted hatred do? That much is easy to imagine.

Dilos left quickly as soon as he finished speaking. Stop Jeremy's revenge? How could he possibly do such a thing? No matter how you look at it, that kind of job should be left to our good-natured classmate Clark. However...

"What did you say?! Clark was grabbed by Whitney to be this year's scarecrow?!"

Dilos grabbed a team member by the collar.

"Are you joking with me?! What the hell is going on? Tell me clearly, right now!"

"Damn it, let go of me!" The team member's face flushed red as he grabbed Dilos's hand, attempting to pry it off. Unexpectedly, Dilos's hand was like an iron clamp; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't budge it.

Realizing that the Dilos before him was not someone to be trifled with, the man lost his initial bravado and said in a weak voice, "Every time Clark runs into Lana, he always looks at her with those lovesick eyes. So..."

Fine. After hearing the reason from this unlucky kid, Dilos twitched his mouth. Now he understood what was going on. Forget Whitney; even he wouldn't be able to stand it if he were in his shoes. Everyone lived in the same small town, played together as children, and attended the same high school. Anyone would get angry if their girlfriend was stared at all day by a lovesick fool.

When someone is already taken, and you, a childhood friend, keep pining after them, isn't that just asking for a beating? You don't touch a friend's wife. Even if you aren't friends, if a couple is doing fine, why are you constantly making them uncomfortable?

Whitney's behavior could be considered mild-tempered. If it were him, he might have beaten the guy until his bones fractured.

But regardless, the most important thing now was to find Clark, that tank, to deal with Jeremy.

"Tell me where Clark is tied up."

After learning Clark's location, Dilos felt a bit helpless. He had actually been tied up near LuthorCorp, 80 kilometers away from the school. There was a cornfield next to LuthorCorp, and that was where Clark was bound.

So, he had no choice but to show his superior strength to the unlucky guy in his hands, make him drive him home, and then speed off to the destination in that Lamborghini LP700-4 Gold Edition.

I have to say, the thunderous roar of the Lamborghini's engine was truly blood-pumping. During the full-speed drive, Dilos took the opportunity to have a good time. He then managed to reach the destination in just over ten minutes.

Such a smooth trip was also because the road to the cornfield was very wide and deserted.

"Clark! Are you there?!"

Dilos vaulted over the cornfield fence, entered the field, and shouted Clark's name at the top of his lungs.

After calling out a few times, Dilos heard a few faint cries for "Help."

He followed the sound and saw Clark, stripped down to his underwear, tied to a wooden cross with an 'S' spray-painted on his chest.

A necklace emitting a green glow hung around Clark's neck. He was covered in cold sweat, his eyes vacant, as if he were about to die at any moment.

"Green Kryptonite," Dilos thought to himself. He recognized the "culprit" causing Clark's current miserable state at a glance.

At the same time, he discovered something else: that necklace was Lana's. If he remembered correctly, Lana had given it to Whitney.

"Whitney must have been so angry he lost his mind to hang this necklace directly on Clark." Dilos shook his head, stood up to untie the ropes on Clark, then took the Green Kryptonite necklace off his neck and put it in his pocket. (PS: For convenience, these meteorites will be called Kryptonite from now on.)

As soon as the Green Kryptonite left Clark, he recovered to full status instantly, as if he had taken a health potion.

Rustle, rustle...

Clark looked at the helpless-looking Dilos, and just as he was about to say something, his attention was drawn to a sound behind him.

Likewise, Dilos looked guardedly at the cornfield behind Clark. The newcomer pushed aside the surrounding corn stalks and appeared before Dilos and Clark.

This guy, with a pale, gloomy complexion, looking like a ghost who had died of malnutrition, was none other than Jeremy Creek.

Jeremy Creek had been in a coma ever since the meteor shower twelve years ago. It wasn't until a storm a few days ago that the hospital's generator broke down and, as luck would have it, leaked electricity into his room, waking him up like a battery charge. He then went missing, leaving the hospital staff terrified and searching for him.

Then came the events of the last few days. This god of vengeance, whether because he was shocked by the leaking generator or because of the meteorites, had gained the ability to use electricity. With a face that hadn't aged a day, he had electrocuted the three idiots who had pranked him twelve years ago.

"Sigh... why did I have to run into him here?" Dilos felt a bit depressed inside, though his expression remained unchanged. Instead, he pretended not to know him and asked:

"Who are you?"

Jeremy ignored him and instead looked at Clark, who was stripped down to his underwear, and the malicious 'S' symbol on his chest.

"It never changes," Jeremy said, looking at Clark, his voice carrying a chilling, eerie coldness. He stepped forward a few paces and looked at Clark.

"It hurts, doesn't it?" Although it was a question, Jeremy said it with a tone of certainty.

To Clark, Jeremy's words and actions were truly bizarre. He frowned and looked at Jeremy with some wariness.

"I'm fine."

"Fine?" Jeremy sneered at Clark. "It's because you're like this that they keep escalating."

Dilos, standing to the side, really wanted to roll his eyes. He was certain that this incident was Clark's own doing.

"Do you know?" Jeremy's expression was somewhat dazed. "I thought if I punished them, they would stop doing these things. But I was wrong. They will never stop!"

Jeremy's tone shifted from dazed to helpless, desperate, angry, and even filled with twisted hatred!

"They must receive divine retribution." Jeremy's voice dropped, as if he weren't angry at all. Yet, that voice brought a chill to Dilos, as if he had stepped into an ice cellar.

Clark, hearing this, seemed to realize something, but before he could think further, he noticed Jeremy's eyes shift toward Dilos. Realizing what was about to happen, he shouted, "Wait!"

At the same time, he used his super speed to try and block Dilos. But no matter how fast he was, he couldn't be faster than lightning!

Just a hair's breadth away, Clark's vision was replaced by a violent bolt of lightning. And because he had rushed forward and couldn't dodge in time, he slammed headfirst into the mass of electricity!
