Any cultivation sect with a long history was sure to have a place where it enshrined its senior forebears and founding patriarchs.
Unlike the way mortals worshipped their ancestors, however, the patriarchs enshrined by immortal sects were not necessarily dead.
Of course, most of them had indeed exhausted their lifespans and passed away in meditation, but some of those senior forebears were still alive.
And very much alive.
They had entered higher realms.
Becoming immortals, or even something stronger!
Once a cultivator became a True Immortal, they generally would not remain in their original sect.
By then, if they wished to keep advancing, they had to venture out in search of new opportunities.
Some might never return.
Others might come back to their original sect after thousands or even tens of thousands of years, just to take a look.
Perhaps they wished to lay an old matter to rest, or perhaps they had some other reason. Whatever the case, without exception, they brought tremendous opportunities to their sect.
Their memorial tablets remained enshrined in the Founder's Shrine.
There, they received the reverence and incense offerings of later generations.
After all, immortal sects placed great importance on the continuation of their legacy.
As the Mist Moon Palace Master, a Mahayana Ancestor, she was supremely arrogant, but she was still deeply respectful toward the generations of patriarchs who had come before her.
For some inexplicable reason, she had felt uneasy all day.
And the First Elder had happened to be away on a journey.
She had no one to talk to or confide in, and she didn't want to show weakness in front of her subordinates and juniors, so she decided to go pray at the Founder's Shrine.
There were things she needed to get off her chest. Perhaps she would feel
