The Lord's residence stood at the center of Mormans, a Gothic tower with silver-black vines of runic metal climbing its wooden walls. Lines of energy formations radiated from it through the surrounding streets.
It was both the hub of the formations and the power source that sustained Mormans's protective barrier.
Whenever the aurora swept across the sky, the protective runes atop the tower lit up on their own. Ghostly blue lines traced the shape of a giant eye across the heavens, watching over the town and the land beyond it.
Naisis pushed open the oak doors of the meeting hall. Pale golden mist poured out—spiritual energy so dense it had taken physical form.
Song Yun and Ye Shanjun followed Naisis inside.
The vast hall was as spacious as the Pantheon in Rome. A huge golden round table stood at its center, with many people already seated around it.
Among them were Stormhead, Sage Sean, Oleg, and other delegation leaders Song Yun recognized.
It seemed they had been invited here too.
Besides them, Song Yun saw several unfamiliar powerhouses. They appeared to be Mormans's top local adventurers; even the weakest among them was a Ninth-Tier Grandmaster.
The world-renowned master smith Master Shanhuo, Weaver Aivige, and the top potion maker Tuning were there as well.
The potion maker was wrapped from head to toe in a black cloak, with only a small part of their face visible. They looked mysterious.
"My lord, the people from the Great Xia Kingdom have arrived," Naisis said respectfully to the figure seated at the head of the table, bathed in golden dawn light.
"Thank you for your effort."
The voice was aged, yet steady and commanding.
Naisis lowered his head and stepped back to stand by the wall.
