Shen Le spent an entire day meditating, recovering, adjusting, and trying every search method he could think of. Nothing worked.
The Copper Fragment's constraints were too sophisticated. To Shen Le, it was essentially a black box, far beyond his current ability to handle.
In fact, if the Copper Fragment hadn't inexplicably accepted him, Shen Le felt he could gain another seventy or eighty levels and still have no hope of moving it an inch.
As for getting the scanning waves to reflect off the atmosphere, Shen Le tried seven or eight times. Apparently, the waves produced by spiritual energy weren't like electromagnetic waves. They didn't bounce off the atmosphere.
Could he constrain the waves emitted by the Buddha Statue, making them curve along Earth's surface?
Unfortunately, that was too hard. Far too hard. Shen Le suspected no one on Earth could do it. What kind of wave traveled in a curve without strong interference?
To bend it, he would need some force acting on it, right?
For gravitational waves, that would mean a massive celestial body. For electromagnetic waves, perhaps an enormous magnetic field?
Unfortunately, Shen Le had neither. He even suspected that if he possessed a force that powerful, he could probably tear Earth apart.
Still, his efforts weren't entirely fruitless. After searching westward, he picked up a faint response:
Maybe, just maybe, the Buddha head or Buddha hand—or perhaps both—lay in that direction?
Shen Le wavered between traveling to the center of the country for another search and going abroad to search from another continent. In the end, he decided to strengthen his position first.
At the very least, he could repair every part of the Buddha Statue that could be repaired, work out what the head and hand might have looked like, carve replacements, and glue them
